Mitch f Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Well, time to start a new year and a new start to fishing. I'm going to make a new years resolution to try a new fishing method. Maybe try to use a fly rod, Maybe get back in a canoe again. With a 14 month old at home, my fishing time is greatly reduced, so I need to Have a plan. Either way let's all try something new this year. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Members pocomoacres Posted December 23, 2010 Members Posted December 23, 2010 Taking up fly fishing may seem like a harmless endeavor. However, the simple fact is, it will take over your life. One thing leads to another, and before long it's tying flies. The list is never ending. So, enjoy what little time you may have now, spend some time with family, because picking up the flyrod will take you away, far far away. It' an enjoyable journey, but it is long and hard. Have fun my friend...and welcome to the secret world of the Fly Fisher.

gotmuddy Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 I am going to focus more on finesse fishing during the winter and try some different methods for catching big smallies. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
fishinwrench Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 This coming year I think I'll slip into a level of debt and poverty that I've never sampled before...just for kicks, and just so I can say "I've been there". Should be an interesting year.

I've got plenty to be thankful for, I'm healthy, I've got good friends, and there's fish to be caught. To hell with some stupid money ! Thanks for the attitude adjustment, Ronnie.

Not to mention you've got all your fingers and toes, most of your whits, and a good woman! (not to mention a cozy goat) (I understand how you feel, though... My business dropped by 85% in 2009, at the same time my wife told me she was pregnant! Hello pork and beans and bye bye to Starbucks.
