I have a good fried who is a meterologist and he often remarks. If we tell them the worst and it don't happen we get lots of flac as quacks. If we tell them the average or least and a catatorphe hits we all need to be fired. So we just try to use common sense.

The storm coming through MO. right now is a huge downward swag and depends upon how the pressure system move the storm path.

Right now it appears that much of the St. louis area could escape the worst. it did today. But if there is a shift in the downward (southward path of the storm as it did in 2006 it could be another disaster with thousands of families caught without heat or shelter.

My son and his family had to abandon their house and stay in a motel for 2 weeks in 2006 from a storm that shifted into the metropolitian area.

I give our cities, counties, state, and federal officials a lot of credit for taking the s cautious interest in our families even though it might be a wasted effort.

Lets give them some credit for being pro active instead of being monday morning quarter backs if they do too much.

Well Put Thom....

I'm thanking my lucky stars we're gonna escape the heavy icing. In '06 my in-laws stayed with us for days on end when their power went out wacko.gif ...a lot of the lines in St. Peters are buried, so we never lost power. A blessing or a curse?

Looks like we'll just be getting a giant snow. Fine with me.

Raining in Mountain Home. That is supposed to change though.

There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.

Snow and sleet at a heavy rate in camdenton, mo. Probably six inches already. Wind is out of the north with some heavy gusts at times. Hope everyone fairs well.

Still just rain on NFoW. Hope we don't get up to the inch of ice that is possible.

I made it to work just fine in the AWD Commander

About 6 inches on the ground already here in warrensburg. Trying to keep up with it but not having much luck. Fortunately, we did not have a lot of ice (did have some tho. Didn't bother going to the stores because it's the same ol song for every snow event. Plenty of food and electricity is still on so all is good. Only have 3 cans of chew left tho (THAT could pose a problem  Enjoy your time with the family

The wife and I had to go to little rock today to see the doctor. It rained all the way down but thankfully no ice. We are right on the edge of the lone though.
