Great picks...can someone local post pics of the riffles at _____ Blue Pipe Hole. That's my favorite spot. With high water, that spot could be some really good fishing.

That would be "Pete's", underwater blue pipe hole.

Nothing like being out on a trout stream just you and the fish! How in the heck could anyone, let alone 3 guys in a row manage to fly fish shoulder to shoulder like that? People say the NFoW is a tough place to cast, that looks harder than anywhere in the world to me. I would say those two guys to the left of the fly fishermen had hats before the horn blew. I wouldn't mind sitting on the bank with a little white lightnin' watching the festivities, but I think I'll wait until everyone has their five

Well if they had their five someone better be writing Tickets considering the Limit is four.

Haven't fish the parks in a while, didn't it used to be five?

Yea, they changed Bennett to four two or three years ago.

If you want to see how high the water is at Bennett at ANY time - just check out the USGS website - shows the water at the Gage House in Zone 1:

http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/uv/?site_no=06923500&PARAmeter_cd=00065,00060

Oneshot is correct - the water level is on the way back up after the heavy rain.

I look in my fly box and think about what should guide my choice of the best fly: the amount/angle of sun on the water, the water temp & clarity, what bugs are hatching, what the fish might be eating, and what worked last time. Then I remember what an old man told me... " Ninety percent of what a trout eats is brown, fuzzy, about 1/2 inch long and underwater."
