flytyer57 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 ...hear a bunch of rumors of giant rats that run around the lake at night. Maybe one of them there musk-RATS swimming in that picture. There's a fine line between fishing and sitting there looking stupid.
troutfiend1985 Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Never have found a body while fishing, but I have a similar story. Back a few years ago I was primarily a warm water fishing guy. I had this spot next to longview that I loved so much, bunch of Crappie and bullheads, great fishing, not easy to access and it was where the little blue(?) or one of its tributaries entered into the lake. Anyways, I loved to fish there primarily because of the seclusion. One day, I see that on the TV that the local news has a helicopter flying over and around my spot. I found out that Kelsey Smith's body was found not too far away from that area(within walking distance). Haven't been back sense, it creeps me out to think that guy was around "my" area in order to determine a good spot to dispose of a body. Ruined my ideal fishing spot and I don't think I would return to that area unless I was carrying a handgun. “The greatest menace to freedom is an inert people” J. Brandeis
id10t Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 i know who bought that coosa. =) but i'm not telling, i'll let him be the one to do that. btw, minimum 6 month wait on a coosa at this point, unless you can get lucky and find one in a store. and jackson doesn't cut deal so expect to pay $999 for the elite if you want one this year. can't wait to get a hands on with that boat and compare it to a couple of others. btw, i'm scouting forest park for mt lion dens now. =) Louis & Clark in Fayetteville, AR and the store in Rogers have plenty of Coosa's on the floor if anyone wants one.

Gavin Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 No I.D. problem on the pigtails...thats our oldest...almost 4. Got the reeling in part last year...this year she will learn to cast...the youngest soon to be 2...will probably reel in her first this year.
stlfisher Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 Had a friend pull a body out of Montauk a couple years ago. He was fishing saw a vest, hat, etc and the body. Pulled him out, but it was too late. It was an older man in 80's that had a heart attack while fishing. He had waited with the police for the guys wife to show up ID the body etc. Bodies have turned up a Busch a few times in the lakes and in the woods. There is reason whey they have a gate up for lakes 31 and 32...you used to be able to drive back (that is my understanding), but a couple hunters fond a missing body in the woods.

Gavin, very nice job, your a cool dad.Hey, by the way do you and Coldwater ever take the kids floating and then camp on the river??? I was wanting to get my daughter Emily around some kids who like to hit the river. I might be jumping the gun a bit she's only 18 months but, I thought you told me you guys hit the river with your daughters.Emily loves sitting in the boat, canoe, and kayaks in the garage, it's one of her favorite things to do.
Gavin Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 We take our girls camping allot but they havent been floating yet. Might be this year for the oldest though, after her swim refresher. Might have a trip planned in May. Shoot me a PM and we can discuss.
