Members Fat Boy Posted April 24, 2011 Members Posted April 24, 2011 Look out bushes here she comes and right as B.A.S.S. gets here, this could be good. Some post spawn, water in the bushes= fun meter being pegged
Ham Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Should be a very productive spawn for our area lakes. I'm hopeful that the great fishing we have right now just got another boost for the future. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 24, 2011 Author Root Admin Posted April 24, 2011 What may happen is TR rises so much that they start flood gates, which I think will happen by the middle of this week. Lake level will rise but fall quickly, how far it will rise and fall I don't know but falling levels aren't good for spawning fish. Crappie and whites are safe. Depends on when and what levels the bass spawn and what happens to the level after that.
Bill Babler Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I'm right with Phil on this. Couple of things. Crappie and Whites are 99 percent done. Lots and Lots of Bass are done and the ones that are bedding now will stay at that level. The newbies will make a move for the bushes and right out in front. Lots and lots of bass will continue to spawn thru the Full Moon in May. I believe again, this should be a good one. Even if they start to drop the lake, I'm confident that it will be ok. This is going to just about put a stopper on the bed fisherman that are comming in, and level the playing field for all involved in the BASS derby. Going to be real interesting. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 And fingerlings seem to survive better in high water with lots of brush to hide in. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Because the beds will be deep because of the rising water? Won't be able to see the beds?
denjac Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Because the beds will be deep because of the rising water? Won't be able to see the beds? Thats the way I see it , and glad it happened . skeeter Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 According to my Vantage Vue rain gauge, since it began raining Thurs., we have had 5.64 inches + an additional .79 inches as of 11:30 A.M. since Midnight, today, Easter Sunday. Looks like that NWS prognostication for 6 to 9 inches over the seven day forecast period may be a little bit low ! Good spawn/fry survival should be a result.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 24, 2011 Author Root Admin Posted April 24, 2011 4+ inches the next 24 hours according to the weather channel.
