Members Tom Tricamo Posted August 24, 2011 Members Posted August 24, 2011 Fellow forumers - I'm planning a fishing trip down to the Rock in mid October. Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on lodging on the lake that had boat rentals? I'd like to find a place directly on the lake with bass boat rental that isn't Big Cedar Lodge. I look forward to your wise and sage like guidance. Thanks, Tom Tricamo
magicwormman Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I need more info to help you out. What part of the Rock do you want to fish? What type of boat do you want? How nice a cabin are you looking for? There are lots of resorts, that rent boats, and all or most of them are available in October.
Members Tom Tricamo Posted August 24, 2011 Author Members Posted August 24, 2011 I appreciate the clarifying question. I would like to fish the main lake, preferably with a fiberglass bass boat. I'm looking for largemouth and smallmouth bass. I've never been to Tablerock, thus I don't have a real hard opinion on what area of the lake we head towards. I'd like the cabin to be a couple notches below Big Cedar but nothing really shabby; my wife may be coming down with me and I'd like her to enjoy the digs while I'm gone (jacuzzi tub) in the morning fishing.

magicwormman Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 I would look in the Kimberling City area. There are several resorts available in the area that would work for you and I think most have a bass boat for rent. If you can't find anything, let us know and we will try to help.
techo Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Table Rock is a different type of beast being a very clear man-made lake with a dam that messes with the flow. A guide wouldn't be a terrible idea for a half day to give you a direction. Tons of them to choose from. Don House (always smiling a contagious smile), Bill Babler, Stone, Eric Prey and many I forget to mention often post on here. There are a bunch that don't post much on here that are awesome too....Bill Beck is an awesome choice. Babler's place is way better and more private than Big Cedar so you might want to check it out. White River Lodge. Hard to get rooms there as he is booked up quite often. Tim Carpenter
Members tbooks Posted August 25, 2011 Members Posted August 25, 2011 Might want to try still waters resort on Indian point. Best on the lake. Check it out on the net.
CaptainJoe Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I would highly recommend Stillwaters Resort. Great accommodations and people. Bill Babler Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 I'm Back. Wonderful 3 plus weeks in Alasky with Phil and two great groups of clients. Guys, does anyone on the Lake rent Glass Bass Boats? Can tell you of at least 10 locations with alum. But don't know about the glass. Might want to think about October down Indian Point road past SDC. At that time of the year, I will not go there. Just flat to much traffic, even with the new roads SDC has installed it is still unbearable. Plus it is quite away to anywhere form there. Kimberling City or the Knob is much better. Stillwaters is very nice, but for a mid-upper end place you have to check out the Village at Indian Point if you want to go down that road. Our Lodging prices are currently pretty close to Big Cedar and Chateau, so there are less money options that are available. Not the ammenities we or the other upper ends have but very nice places. Might try Indian Hills Resort as Baxter has bass boats to rent at a great price. Also try Viola for very good prices. Campbell Point out of the Knob is alxo good. Best restaurants in the area at the knob. Close to Eurka Springs and very good fishing for non-guided fisherman. Way easier than the big water. October is jig month and I expect the fish will remain shallow and very active. Great to be home and good luck out there. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
