Smalliebigs Posted October 28, 2011 Posted October 28, 2011 I don't know what that game was like last night on TV but, in person it was beyound my verbal desciption. The best part, my buddies seats are very good and most of the Rangers upper brass and management, including Nolan Ryan were in our section and they celebrated twice. Each time the look on their faces when David hit these balls is something I will never forget. The uphoria was showering down like a violent thunderstorm.Strangers hugging and kissing each other like jubilant little kids. Last night was quite simply the worst and the best game I have ever witnessed in person and I can't wait to get 5 hours of free time to watch it on my dvr. Tonight could be the happy ending to one of the best baseball stories of all time and I can't wait to get down there. This really shoud be made into a movie if the Cardinals win, it has been an amazing journey.....just rediculous. I can't wait to see the look on Nolan Ryan's face tonight.....soak it up Cardinal fans it doesn't get any better than this

I can't imagine the sounds and excitement in person. Game 5 - I didn't sleep well after watching that game. Too much stress and frustration. So I wasn't going to keep watching last night if the Cards showed signs of buckling again. I quit watching early but sneaked a peak at the 7th inning. Almost turned it off but thought, I might as well watch Texas win... I like Texas. They're a good team and deserve to be where they are. I like Nolan Ryan. So I watched it - and man I'm glad I did. Have to be on the road tonight heading back home (from Texas) so I'm researching how to watch it on my iPad.

Hey phil I've been streaming the games online @ www.firstrowsports.tv - there are several links containing streams from FOX and ESPN. I will also be on the road tonight and trying to see if it will work on my Iphone, but I think it would work on the Ipad depending if you have your 3g on and how well it works I think? GO CARDS! Brian K. Shaffer Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 check the sports section in your paper -- WHAT ???? LaRussa is retiring ? wait... that means no Pujols next year doesnt it.... hmmmm ??!!??!! Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
joeD Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 The playoff and World Series run (with attendant merch sales) put quite a bit of money into the Cardinal bank account. I think with the team relatively intact and Wainwright returning, Pujols will accept the DeWitts' offer. I would like to see Oquendo get the manager job. But, I think Terry Francona from the Red Sox is the front runner now.

joeD Posted November 1, 2011 Author Posted November 1, 2011 Yes, it will be interesting. 1. I would be surprised if the Cardinal management put a first year manager in. I'm not opposed to it, but my bet is they will choose a name veteran. 2. Dave Duncan staying on another year is more important than the managerial choice. 3. One thing that is a stone cold lock, is that John Mozeliak will, in the upcoming weeks, say "...at the end of the day..."

I have a friend that uses the word "typically" in every sentence. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
