gotmuddy Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 right bite baits makes a alabama rig for $10. Gerrys quick stop in mtn home sells them. I hate to admit it but I am going to try it on the river. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Tfsh4bass Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Saw a guy in a white/red Ranger throwing the 5 bait A Rig around State Park area the other day. Some people are going to get in trouble with that this Spring.
motoman Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I thought the same thing. This whole A-Rig craze should prove to be easy pickings for the authorities!
Champ188 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 You can have 5 baits long as only 3 have hooks.
motoman Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 You can have 5 baits long as only 3 have hooks. - That's exactly where I thought it was going to get people in trouble. Putting baits with hooks on every arm.:-(
WeekendWarrior Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 You can have 5 baits long as only 3 have hooks. Bought a couple of A-rigs today for springtime. That was exactly what I was thinking was to put 5 grubs on and clip hooks on the top 2 grubs with the thinking the bass would be rising to bait and get the bottom ones.
Members Bassdeer Posted January 6, 2012 Members Posted January 6, 2012 Cheapest place to get them is Barlows tackle, you have to build them (bend the wire for the swivel, buy the swivel) but only $4.99 each or 10 for $39.00. http://www.barlowstackle.com/Casting-Umbrella-Rig-Lure-Head-Unpainted-P2538.aspx

Made a bunch last night using the shad/minnow head Do-It mold in the 1/2oz size. Takes some work, but figure I saved myself about $150 and the kids were spellbound. Used three wires out the hook slot and a separate wire up fron, joined inside the head, then twist an eye as you would a trout spinner for a line tie. Now if I can actually make myself throw it...
