Some Ducks Started Moving In

My wife MonaChari and I got out this morning on Table Rock Lake for a little duck hunting. The main objective was for her to take some pictures of the greebs that have been hanging around. She would not put the gun down to grab the camera. She kept saying, I'm hunting right now every time the greebs came by.

Lately when I've been hunting, I've been lucky to see 35 ducks a morning and that includes the ones at a distance. This morning we counted well over 150 and we even had a few come in to take a look. MonaChari bagged her first greenhead this morning

I almost called you today. I was in Gentry and geese were coming over about 500 at a time!

Good for her, you can run that dang camera. I was on the crappie dock this afternoon and I witnessed what Chief is describing. One bunch of geese after another were headed to TR.

Way to go Mrs. Ducky. It is great to take out your best friend isn't it Dewayne? Pat back at work today and I went solo. Just took the duck decoys. One green wing drake and a drake and hen mallard. Snows were flying at four-thirty when I got up. Canadas started flying around eight.

Things have been moving good here since the Sunday before Thanksgiving. Lots of Pintails this year. Our blind has killed 5 drakes so far. Normal years would only produce one at the most. We had snows on our lake last Thurs and Fri. Mallards have started coming down also.

Nothing flying this morning. Only seen 3 ducks, one group of Canada's and one small group of snows. Slow morning so I brushed the blind up some more.

On Friday I guarded the ducks on Taney. None were molested or hurt by me. Had three Wood ducks swim into the decoys & stayed all morning. Too pretty to shoot. Too slow on a pair of Mallard hens & four Gadwalls. I did not see all of the geese or other ducks moving. I was hunting in the Boy's Camp Cove - think I will try down the lake next time.
