ness Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Do tell? I s'pose I mist this most recent affrontation by the taxists to infringe on my rytes to ware felt upon my feet. I shall rally the militia and defeet this tyrannous attempt of monarchial cobbling! Or I mite just get some new bewts. John
Outside Bend Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Watch out, ob will be the first to give you a lecture on why you are not intitled to have that opinion. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, just not their own facts. Remove the emotional arguments, and just look at the science. <{{{><
Brian Sloss Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Didymo is an hour and an half from my home water and it has not gotten here yet and I don't want it to get here. I am fine with the new reg, it is worth the inconvenience. Frankly, this ban will take hold in a lot of other states as well is my bet. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
drew03cmc Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Wouldn't you think that if it was going to infect the 11Pt or NFOW that it would already be there considering their proximity to the Norfork Tailwater? Andy
Brian Sloss Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I am not willing to take the chance going forward. We have been lucky so far on the NFOW and 11pt and I am all for preventing it from here forward. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
fishinwrench Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 It's like deja'vu all over again. "What's your stream worth to YOU? "..... What a pitch! LOL as if it ceases to be "a stream" if someone wears felt in it. Nevermind the turkey/hog/cattle farm, and human development impact, for now. This is way more critical. Sorry, this one is gonna take me some time to get my head wrapped firmly around it.

Guess you haven't seen what happens to a stream with a didymo invasion...it pretty much ceases to be a productive body of water... -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
stlfisher Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 I understand the argument that rubber boots will not offer the same traction as felt or the expense of buying new boots may frustrate some, but overall the ban is a no brainer IMO and seems like a small price to pay to help keep our streams as healthy as possible.
Outside Bend Posted December 22, 2011 Posted December 22, 2011 Wouldn't you think that if it was going to infect the 11Pt or NFOW that it would already be there considering their proximity to the Norfork Tailwater? Yes. Then again, no one expected an algae native to low nutrient boreal streams would become a nuisance in fertile western tailwaters. Just because something hasn't happened doesn't mean it will never happen. <{{{><
