mic Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Can anyone recommend an advance nymphing book? I've read all about all the basics and am looking for something in depth.
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 I would use the internet. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

mic Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 I would use the internet. Two things.... One, done that. Two, the computer looks funny on your lap when your taking a crap.

Have you tried using it outside the head? I have several books that I bought decades ago and which was the only thing available then, but they are all so general they do little to help stream success. They would allow you to blow more smoke on here, but not much on the river. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Brian K. Shaffer Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I say buy any of Lefty Kreh's books... particularly; Advanced Fly Fishing Techniques: Secrets of an Avid Fisherman. I learned a ton from that book. You can buy it off www.abebooks.com right now for $1.00 and $2.95 shipped from St. Louis. http://www.abebooks.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=5111445874&searchurl=sts%3Dt%26tn%3DAdvanced%2BFly%2BFishing%26x%3D56%26y%3D4 Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
FishinCricket Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Kama Sutra, maybe? Oh, wait, you said nymphing.. Sorry.. cricket.c21.com
fishinwrench Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Two things.... One, done that. Two, the computer looks funny on your lap when your taking a crap. You're wasting your time, you can't learn advanced nymphing techniques while levitating over the water ....you actually have to get in it.
Ham Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I've got a Dave hughes book that helped me, but you need time on the water more than anything else. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Brian K. Shaffer Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 I agree.. Dave Hughes's books are quite helpful. Its the little tips and tricks that when you teach them to yourself they really do become useful and eventually second nature on the stream.
