drew03cmc Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 We all do. I did some lawn casting today, that is the extent of my outdoor activity in a week. Andy
ciRe Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Very nice. Never really have looked at Kansas as a fishing state. More mainly for their big bucks.
drew03cmc Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Kansas has some nice bass fishing lakes. We don't have any stream fishing because of the nature of stream access in the state, but the lakes can fish very good. Andy
TroutRinger Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 GREAT FISH! ...and Pflueger President's are my favorite "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy." "There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot."
Kayser Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 Looking at the fins and how silver the fish is, I'd guess the fish is a holdover. Good catch, either way/ WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.
dtrs5kprs Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 And apparently it is no longer the record: http://www.in-fisher...rout-an-update/ Just came in from Ned Kehde via the FNN.
laker67 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 the right thing to do, would be first reconize his fish as a record, and then replace it with the new. Let the guy have the record status.
ollie Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Ok, apparently this lake has a LOT of brood stock released into it. My UPS driver at work went to the lake last week and caught a 9 pounder and his buddy caught an 11 pounder the next day! Saw the pics of both and they both looked pretty beat up. Not to take away anyones catch, but these trout couldn't have been the wisest out there! lol "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Jason R. Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 That article is great. Whoever wrote that has a flair for the dramatic for sure. I especially like the description of how he cast the jig and retrieved it. Tantalizing. http://flyinthesouth.com/
drew03cmc Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 They stock a LOT of big fish in Lake Shawnee. Andy
