He is guilty of killing a big ol' full of eggs female spawner for naught. He should get 5 years hard labor for that.

, laugh it off and start shopping for endorsement deals.

I hear that his bail bondsman want to use the photo of him holding the fish in handcuffs, and put it on a giant billboard advertisement.

He hasn't had a license since April of last year so I figure he has been fishing and would have kept fishing with out it for almost a year now. That is not just a mistake.

In his defense I was launching my boat at Eagle Rock a couple of years ago and a game warden checked my license, it was April and I knew I got my license every Nov so I thought I was good then he pointed out that I had missed that last Nov and I had been fishing 5 months without a good license, and I had been fishing a lot even in trout waters. He handed me the 800 number and allowed me to obtain a license via cell phone instead of giving me a ticket, even though I didn't have the boat in the water yet he still could have given me a big fine and I was out of state.

It happens to everyone sometimes, I really thick they should send out reminders like they do for vehicles and drivers license. I even made a trip this year forgetting my license had expired and had to call my wife to get them online while I was on my way to the lake.

Stump its post like yours of things that happen to guys that are law abiding and honest, that support the reason for lifetime license's. They never expire so unless you forget it its always good and even if you do the GW can easily verify you have it.

Stumper, AGFC must not like you, they send me a reminder every year, maybe because I renew mine by mail?

I usually get KS hunt/fish and MO non-resident hunt/fish every January. Just didn't get the MO one done a couple years ago, but remembered it the first morning of a fishing trip in April. Had to get a late start fishing because I had to go to town and hunt down a place to buy one. It does happen.

Ark sends renewals and reminders, so it is really kind of hard to forget. It is pretty easy however to make mistakes as we have all made the.

A few years ago a friend and I were hunting elk in Colorado. We inadvertantly crossed a boundary into a closed area and my friend harvested a very nice elk.

The same afternoon after packing his elk to the processing plant we were headed back into the same area and the Agent was there. He asked to see my permit and notified me I was about 30 yrds. across into the restricted zone. We went on and hunted a while and my friend said, "You know, I believe I harvested an illegal animal, and I think we need to notify someone."

Long story short, He turned himself in. They took the elk and due to us being honest we were only charged with having possision of a bow in a closed area. $90.00 including cost.

His Kill was harvested we figured less than 100 yrds. inside the unmarked boundary at least a mile from any hiway. Just a mistake on our part. BUT a MISTAKE.

All the other curd about the line and the lure is brought on by these STUPID companies. It is pretty easy to get on the net and see who pays the most for using their products and if you are the least bit "Morally Challanged," it seems like even in fishing, money rules.

I have questioned my wife about this and she has a 3 year license because she is disabled and she receives reminders but she has never seen a reminder for me and she tracks everything that comes in the mail so I am going to stick with Arkansas doesn't send everyone a reminder. For 22 years I received a free license due to being active duty bit for the past 6 years I have paid for them, I think every year in a different place or manor. online, 800 number, mail,HL&S, Walmart you name it but never because of a friendly letter.

I also have had the same address since 2001 so I guess I will have to depend on stories like this one to make me check my wallet more often, and I did get a border waters today, almost forgot that one, thanks Mr.Crowder.

I buy my license at a store (HLS) and have never gotten a reminder. I may have to start doing it by mail or online if they send a reminder. That would be nice.

Not sure what the norm is for states, but in MN, pretty much all licenses expired on the last day of Feb each year. So if you didn't get your license until December, for example, it was really only good for 2-3 months. But it was nice that you always knew when it was time to get the license renewed.

In Ark, the fishing license runs out 12 months to the day after purchase. That's nice because you get the full value of the money you spent, but it makes it hard to remember when to renew. So a notification would be awesome.
