mic Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Can anyone speak to Gasconade Hills Resort for RV camping?
Jack Jones Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 Can't speak about RV camping, but I did go floating out of there last summer. The place looked very clean. The playground equipment looked a little older, but I don't know if that's an issue with you. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The bath/shower room that I changed in was clean also. KCRIVERRAT Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 They've got a nice area for RV camping. Give them a call and look'em up online. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 You want the good, the bad, and the ugly? It's always been clean when I've been there. The didn't ever have a lot of bathroom space, but I haven't beenin a couple of years. A couple of times I've been groups from where ever have come in late at night and had no regard for anyone else. They were both going until 1 or 2 AM. That's always been my complaint there, no one keeps an eye on it after normal bedtime. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Good enough. I like the stretch of river above better than the one below.

Didn't look before typing this but I think our float was about 10 miles total and we camped on the river overnight. Caught some decent fish. My wife uses GH for her all-girls floats and she's always come back with pics of nice fish caught. She learned from the best (her first husband). I'm kidding... really... I'm kidding... seriously guys... I'm kidding! He caught a channel once and submitted it to the MDC for a state record... as a Grouper. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Greasy B Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 For many years I considered the three day float from Adams Ford to G H the sweetest in the ozarks. Very quiet water, gravel bar camp sites are hard to come by the closer you get to G H. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

The campground was almost full and about 10:30 or 11 a big group came in acted like it was 10 in the morning putting up tents, yelling back in forth and turning the kids loose to run and scream until about 2 in the morning. Don't get me wrong, I would go back because it is handy and the owners are nice people. But I would also avoid camping in a campground if at all possible. Daryk Campbell Sr Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 LMAO at the Grouper. That one should go into the fish stories post.
