For those of you that know and have met me you know that I love my dogs. Well last last night was the last leg of my Brittany herd. I had to put Junior down last night. Came home from work and he couldn't get up. Made a trip to the vet hospital. They said he had a severe infection He was 15 and struggling with debatable health issues. However he was holding on and trying to make the best of our last few trout fishing trips together.

It's amazing how dogs become like a family member, sorry for your loss.

Sorry hit send by mistake.

He had prostrate issues. Long story short, that's 3 of the best pheasant dogs I've ever had in 9 months. Too much for a guy to handle. For those of you that knew my dogs and enjoyed them I say thanks for your appreciation!!

RIP Biscuit, Dixie and Star's Junior Buckaroo "Junior" your family will you guys!!

Thanks Mitch. My wife loved my dogs as much as I have. Plus my kids. My youngest daughter just came home from college which helped. My step son and oldest daughter are going to have problems. My son shot his first pheasant over junior when he was 16. I know that he won't take it well. Anyway life goes on and we get old!! Darn it!!

Time heals all Pat. Just be thankful for the time you had them and the memories they left you. Dogs are better than a best friend sometimes.

I feel your loss I have had 3 brittanies over the years from grade school until I was 40. Lost the last one in 98 and he was 15, he was raised with our spitz and even though he weighed about 60 lbs and she weighed 15 all she had to do was growl just a little and he would lay down and she would clean his ears out. My son and the britt were only a month apart and he would always get them out when he went out in the backyard to play and if I went out to get on him for something they would try and get between me and him.

Britts, I'm very sorry for your loss. It sounds like you gave Junior a great time and I'm sure it was reciprocal. My best friend in the world next to my wife is my Bluetick Hound Sadie and she is holding on but I know her time to go chasing minnows down the creek is coming sooner than later.

It is funny how much respect and love, Sadie has shown me over the last 13 1/2 years. She is the best dog I have ever raised and is one of the best creatures I have ever known. She will be missed greatly.

R.I.P, Junior......probally chasing some pheasant till the day is long somewhere

Sorry to hear that Britts. Like they say, grief is the price we pay for love. I'm sure you've got a ton of great memories.

Our oldest Brittany, Molly, is coming up on 11 and I really noticed her slowing down this year. Kinda hard to see.
