Here's one that ran up from a clear water lake (Lake Superior) into a dark tannic water river (not telling the name of that one on the internet...)

Nemo's fish looks like a lot of the Current river smallies you catch in shallow flowing stuff especially when the sun has been out.

Big Piney River, 17 years ago, very Black Smallie that fought like a champ.I was younger and more skinny and very stupid.

Black River, 3 weeks ago, typical very Gold Smallie for that drainage. 17 years older and fatter and still very stupid.

Typical Bronze from southeastern creek

Same creek and same day, Bronze and a Goldie double up.......lots of variation...........Smallies are truly a beautiful Chameleon.

Here's an odd duck

I ran across a couple of boys doing some "creek wading", earlier this year. I've seen smallies in variety of shades, but this one was a first.

And yeah Mitch, it takes alot of Neosho's to make a mess. Next time you bring her down, I'll spend a couple of weeks getting enough for a fry. I only have about 60 of them in the freezer now. Not near enough for two.
