West Fork Jason Posted July 8, 2012 Author Posted July 8, 2012 Here's one that ran up from a clear water lake (Lake Superior) into a dark tannic water river (not telling the name of that one on the internet...) http://www.WestForkJason.com
Ham Posted July 8, 2012 Posted July 8, 2012 Nemo's fish looks like a lot of the Current river smallies you catch in shallow flowing stuff especially when the sun has been out. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Smalliebigs Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Big Piney River, 17 years ago, very Black Smallie that fought like a champ.I was younger and more skinny and very stupid. Black River, 3 weeks ago, typical very Gold Smallie for that drainage. 17 years older and fatter and still very stupid. Typical Bronze from southeastern creek Same creek and same day, Bronze and a Goldie double up.......lots of variation...........Smallies are truly a beautiful Chameleon.
West Fork Jason Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Nemo- That one's a freak! I'd mistake it for a rock bass if i caught it around here. Thanks for sharing that pic. J http://www.WestForkJason.com
Chief Grey Bear Posted July 10, 2012 Posted July 10, 2012 I agree, golden is the best color variation for smallmouth! creek wader Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 Here's an odd duck I ran across a couple of boys doing some "creek wading", earlier this year. I've seen smallies in variety of shades, but this one was a first. wader
Smalliebigs Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I agree, golden is the best color variation for smallmouth! lol.....those look good, the serving dish is pretty cool too
Mitch f Posted July 11, 2012 Posted July 11, 2012 I agree, golden is the best color variation for smallmouth! Only problem is the Neosho fillets wouldn't be enough to feed my 2 year old!!! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Chief Grey Bear Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 Man, I didn't think you guy's were gonna see my humor! And yeah Mitch, it takes alot of Neosho's to make a mess. Next time you bring her down, I'll spend a couple of weeks getting enough for a fry. I only have about 60 of them in the freezer now. Not near enough for two.
