I hope its OK to ask this on this site. But, someone else asked about "what to do in the Branson area". So I'll ask. Has anyone been to the Crystal Bridges Museum? If so what did you think about it? I think its about 1 3/4 hr. drive from Kimberling City. Planning on going this week-end. What do you think?

I haven't been, but I've seen a feature on it on local TV and it looks like it's worth the trip.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I went there with the wife, that being said I am not a fan of contemporay art, For me it was like watching grass grow. Maybe if you smoked a fat one before you went in it might help. I guess Rosy the riviter was pretty neat. Its free though .

I actually proposed to my fiance there. The trails are really nice. I also happen to be an art fan so I really like the museum part too. I think it is worth going up there. The fact that it is free is great too. Chicks dig it- its worth a trip.

I went this past weekend with my wife. I thought it was very well designed and thought out. The trails are great. The artwork is very good. It is quite a hike from Mtn Home, but I think it is great that we have it as close as it is.

Stay out of the gift shop. Pricey.

Well we had our visit to Crystal Bridges Musuem, in Bentonville Ark.. I don't give fishing reports on this site because I very seldom have anything positive to report. Our trip to the Museum was very positive, so here's a report.

Crystal Bridges Museum is sponsered by Walmart. It is an art museum, featuring American Art. Alice Walton (Walmart) created the museum. Most of the pieces in the museum are donated by her, including other private donations. The contemporary, modernistic, expressionism part of the museum did not interest me very much. Although it did include a great piece by Norman Rockwell, "Rosie the Riveter". Rosie was unbelieveable. I didn't care for Andy Warhol's "Dolly Parton",(it did not feature her best assets), or most of the other stuff in that section.

The Colonial and 19th Century section was more of a realist style of art, more to my taste. It was outstanding. Anyone having the slightest interest in Great American Art, should see this museum. It was well worth the drive and the price was right, free.

Crystal Bridges Museum is a great gift to the American Public, by Alice Walton. If you can, you should see it.

We went a last weekend (5/12) with my daughter and son-in-law who live just a few minutes from there. It's pretty incredible- it's a preserve in the city with a impressive modern structure in the middle. The art I've heard is so good that ppl from the east coast are asking why it's in the Midwest where it can't be appreciated... that should tell you the value of it. A lot of great American history can be seen in some of the original paintings but of course there's the art that some of us would browse by with only a quick glance.

I'd go - even if you're not an art lover. Once won't hurt ya.

If I had proposed to Donna there, she woulda dumped me on the spot. Then again, I would've had to have gotten her there to start with. :XD:
