Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted May 30, 2012 Root Admin Posted May 30, 2012 Should complain to the management... enough complaints and they may back off their customers. It's got to be turning off customers. I'm actually surprised Mr. Morris would allow it.
ness Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 They accosted me at Cabela's in KC once a few years back. It's a real turn-off when somebody shoves a brochure (or anything) in your hand without an introduction or asking or anything. It's no wonder those guys have such a poor reputation. I only saw them there once or I would have been tempted to complain to somebody. I've got a friend who's about as cheap as they get. So cheap, in fact, that he gave them the initial OK in hopes of getting something for nothing. They could never get a nickle outta him, but he felt like he'd been run over by a truck by the time he escaped from the back room. John
Riverwhy Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 I shop regularly at the St. Charles BassPro and they are increasingly annoying. Normally I could just avoid the fish tank and be OK but now they hunt you down in the fishing section. I really haven't had much problem telling them no thanks but I agree it is frustrating to feel like you have to fend them off every time you go in there. The Columbia, Independence and Springfield stores are a much softer sell.
Members whetstone Posted May 30, 2012 Members Posted May 30, 2012 I had one in the Springfield store actually ask me why I wasn't "man enough" to take my family on vacation. I can't remember verbally lighting someone up so bad in my life as I did that day.

riverfish Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 if im in no hurry which i usually am i will stand there smile real big act interested let them do all the work of talking me into doing something that i am never going to go for, let them make their pitch even make them think im going to go for it like they have one hooked or something when you see their eyes start lighting up AND THEN i tell them no. and walk away laughing but thats just me.
Mitch f Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 LOL They don't bother me much...I just tell them right off the bat I'm not interested. If they try to keep talking, I cut them off..."I'm not interested." But what we have here is..."I'm not interested. Thanks anyway." Usually third time's a charm. Takes about 15 seconds. Same technique is used for door-knocking Jesus converters. Yep, I usually just say I'm not interested and put my right hand up with my palm facing them. They get the message fast. The minute you let someone bother you, they have won the contest. I just hang up on phone solicitors. "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
