First off what I am promoting is being friendly and at peace with folks that aren't harming anything. Seeing someone partying and ASSUMING that they will rape and pillage the next woman or wimp that they see is freakin' ate up paranoia, dude.

When was the last time any young girls got raped on the river for Gods sake?

Those people you run into kickin it on the river are the same folks you deal with every day, they are students, teachers, factory workers, grocery store employees, ect.

Y'all are growing some weird s#it in the gardens of your mind and I'm just curious about who's doing the planting.

Overweight girls in bikinis, there really should be a law against that. Maybe a government clothing ban on any bikini manufactured, nothing over a size 6.

That is what usually ruins it for me.

Once again a voice of reason speaks out in a discussion rife with parroted statements, thanks Wrench.

Maybe somebody misunderstood me, but there is a difference between people having a good time and people doing things that are either illegal, dangerous to others, or threatening to others. If I decide to go somewhere on a Saturday (or on a Friday or Sunday on some streams...Saturday isn't the only crowded day on some of them), I expect crowds, I expect noisy, boisterous people, I expect a lot of drinking to be going on. But what I don't think I or anybody else should have to put up with is stuff like I mentioned before where two large, drunk guys were making very lewd and threatening remarks to my 14 year old niece, or the drunk the same day who stood on the gravel bar in front of her and us and exposed himself to pee, or jetboaters who come within a few feet of people on tubes, or really bad and obvious littering, or in general very obnoxious behavior by drunken fools. Whatever you would get arrested for in a city park, you should also be subject to arrest for on the river.

There is no state statute against public intoxication in Missouri. Merely being drunk is not disorderly conduct. Call your state reps. If you want a solution. The bush beer lobbiests have made Missouri a drinking friendly state. That said I like a beer or three on the river every now and then. Like all things moderation is the key.

And Lakes... This behavior is not just limited to streams, creeks and rivers. How many people need to be killed injured or other by people drinking or doing illegal drugs before action is taken. If its illegal anyplace else then its illegal on water as well. That is not hard to understand. AND this is not just about fishermen ( at least not in my case ) but being able to enjoy the waters safely.
