id10t Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Just want to welcome the Tiger fans to the SEC. The fun is about to begin. Your lucky to get both Georgia and Bama at home. Hopefully the Arkansas/Mizzou series starting next year will create some fun for the future. I hope it does not take you 20 years to adjust like it did Arkansas. It is a whole new ballgame.
stlfisher Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 It is gonna be fun. There is a lot of excitement and nervousness surrounding the upcoming season among my friends. Probably the most Mizzou buzz I have heard around STL in a long time. It will take some adjustment, but I think 8-4 is possible. I would guess 4-4 in conferance, but nothing would surprise me really. Happy to be in east as oppossed to the west...for now. I think basketball will be a big rivalry almost immediately with the whole Anderson connection. Gonna be fun though.
dennis boatman Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 ...already miss them in the Big 12... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
Smalliebigs Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 8-4.....wow you must have love the Black and Gold Kool-aid???? lol....just kidding. their non confrence schedule is way harder than it normally is so I will say 6-6 if they have no injuries, which is just about impossible.....so realisticly speaking 5-7. Now, Basketball will be a different story....Mizzou has a squad with some transfers that will be one hell of a team. Mizzou and Kentucky will dominate the SEC on the hardwoods this year but, football well....Gary and his crew are going to get killed.....not enough size and a very gimick laced offense with little or no speed at the point of attack is going to just kill them in the SEC. Bottom line is Mizzou's football coaching sucks, their offensive cordinator is weak at best and Gary is really just a figure head that recruits. The future of the program is in dire straits if they can't recruit the best in the country and seal the borders of Missouri of D1 football talent, which there is quite a bit of here, but they haven't been able to do it in the past so time will tell. They can't let all the D1 killer talent in the St.Louis area go to other schools.....Gary is seriously lacking in keeping home grown heros in Missouri.
Jerry Rapp Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 college sports are suppose to be amatuers. But the SEC has never used that as a guideline. Missouri is in way over their head I am afraid. I am on another forum where the fishermen in the southeast would kill for their SEC team. It amazes me how they worship the "athletes" at these schools.
Members kirbydog Posted August 6, 2012 Members Posted August 6, 2012 Agreed-Missouri is in WAY over their head. But hopefully being in the SEC will help with recruiting and that will help over the long run. Over the short run its gonna be brutal.
Justin Spencer Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I hope Mizzou comes in and puts a surprise whoopin' on somebody. I think about everyone would agree that the SEC is the best football conference, but the big 12 ain't bad either. If the Tigers can come in and hold their own that will give the Big 12 a little more street cred. The Big 12 still needs Mizzou to do well this first year, if they get pushed around that won't help the reputation of the Big 12. KCRIVERRAT Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 S-Bigs, if you're a Mizzou fan you don't sound like one. Yes... it's gonna be tough. I think the Tigers are up for it. The SEC is built on defense. Our offense man for man is faster than ANY SEC offense. This season will be about whether our offense produces in a defensive minded confernce. Jury's out. And as far as home grown talent goes... DGB is better than anything St. Louis produced this year. Or any HS in the country for that matter. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
rps Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 This last year's best football conference, based on rankings, was the Big 12. Look it up. Missouri was a "contender" in the Big 12 for football and will fare no better in the SEC. Boomer Sooner.
laker67 Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 Dang, I did it again, thought this was about a fish, sorry.
