I usually pack a big water for one day trips (where I'm starting and stopping during the same light period) , longer than that, I generally throw a couple adult beverages and a giant sandwich in a cooler, plus a big water.

Often some Oberle cheese, a soft garlicky cheese.

That explains why you always fish alone! :beaten:

And a small handgun of high capacity with a few extra rounds.

I always figured you for being a bad shot. :graffiti:

No, he packs an extra sandwich for the bad guys. They put their guns away for a good sandwich, heard he ran into a whole group of thugs a couple weeks ago and survived.

Plus they gave up their secret fishing spots. I was kinda surprised by that. That one ol' boy just couldn't shut up about it.

Had that happen once before, and its funny that the person was from the same area too, and went and checked the info out. It was spot on! So I guess I'll have to check on my new info too.

A roll of Burger summer sausage and some cheese is pretty much the standard for me.

I used to get to fish with a long haired hippie that always brought that along with some of his homeade hot sauce. Holy Cow was that stuff good. I always wanted to pig out on it but kept my composure. Seen him cut is thumb pretty bad the last time I fished with him. Hope it healed up ok. I think you may know him.

Overnight trip meals can be fairly elaborate...Crawfish boil for 20 etc....

For 20??? That is a lot of crawdads. Not much left for the smallmouth.

Chester's Fried Chicken is good in a pinch...usually available at truck stops.

I have seen that sign at a couple of places and really wanted to try it. But everytime I go in, it is never there. Maybe they don't sell it anymore.

Chesters is really good stuff, but they closed the one near us after about a year operating in a gas station/convenience store. My cussed Garmin told me there was one in a truck stop in Colby, KS a couple weeks ago. I dragged my whole family in there knowing they'd all love it. It was gone and we had to settle for some other junk.

That must be some goooooooooood chicken. That was a longass drive wasn't it?? There is a gas station in El Dorado Springs that has a sign but I can't find the chicken. The grocery story at the west end of town has some good chicken.

I like Church's Chicken too. They don't have it around here anymore.

bologna and ripe home grown tomatoes.....if in season for the lunch. Put it on bread with some mustard and it does the trick! A bag of chips or two and some oberle sausage from Calliers or homemade wieners to snack on with some anheuser products in between.....sometimes, we just take some hot dog buns and some dogs to stick if we feel like roughin' it.
