Members kdan
And on and on it goes, no matter the subject, it all comes down to Liberal vs Conservative. I am sick of this political BS being brought up in every topic. Yes, you are correct, if I don't like it, don't read it. There is always the "power off". Guess that is why I am only on here every few monthes, It never changes.

Concealed Carry is a great thing if used responsibly. I am half tempted to pay my tax and get my CCW license in Kansas, just because. JD is right (did those words really just come from my fingers?) on the fact that Romney gave the least enlightening speech of the entire Convention, only slightly exceeding the lie filled remarks of his VP candidate. Eastwood was very, shall we say, off his rocker, while Condi gave a great speech. It wasn't a bad GOP convention, but more than one speech-maker didn't mention Romney much, if at all, and began his 2016 campaign this week. You know who it is. Feathers and Fins
and began his 2016 campaign this week. You know who it is. Yup and I WISH HE WOULD HAVE RAN! I like his simple straight forward no holds bar way of telling it the way it is and think though I may not always agree with him at least I can believe what he says and stands for because he says it and doesnt play the politically correct word game. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
MOPanfisher
But if Clint Eastwood were going hiking or fishing in the backwoods of the Ozarks would he be carrying a firearms? Of course! Possibly either his old S&W Model 29 in .44 Mag (Dirty Harry) or one of the many varieties of single action handguns from the westerns, or maybe the Sharps rifle from Outlaw Josey Wales or he might just beat them half to death (any which way but loose series). I am a liberal, but I am glad that Christie didn't run this time around. Romney and Ryan are a dream ticket for the Obama campaign. Andy
dennis boatman
OK, are we talking about Todd Akin in 2016? A strike indicator is just a bobber...
ColdWaterFshr
Al said it best. The paranoia behind the CCW group just doesn't add up. Especially out on a fishing trip, your personal hazards to your health are such that you are more likely to accidentally drown (yet do you wear lifejackets 100% of the time?), car wreck on the way home from a drunk, or get struck by lightning, or get hypothermia, or any number of things that you can or can't prevent . . . . . but facing harm at the hands of a gun-toting wacko is so far remote, it defies comprehension. Good for you if you want to carry, but you got a screw loose.
Al Agnew
F&F, I agree with everything you said except the snake thing. In my opinion, carrying a handgun on the river because you're worried about snakes is REALLY not a good thing. Contrary to the stories, I've never known a snake to attack a person, let alone attack them in such a way that the only way they could stop the charging snake was with a well-placed .45 bullet. I've had cottonmouths act like they were going to come into the canoe, but a couple of jabs with the paddle discouraged them. If one was so insidious that it sneaked into the canoe with you, what'cha gonna do then? Shoot a hole in the canoe? On my float trip this last week, I was talking to one of the guys that I met on the river in kayaks. I'd just mentioned that I'd already seen several cottonmouths, and he'd just said he was really scared of cottonmouths and he hoped he didn't see any. I happened to glance over toward the bank about 30 feet away, and sure enough there was one swimming along the bank. I pointed it out to him, he shuddered a bit, and we went on talking about other things, but he was watching the snake the whole time. Then he said, "Hey, that cottonmouth is coming toward us!" Sure enough, the snake was swimming across the river straight toward us, at a typical cottonmouth rate of speed. I said, "Yep, they're always curious, and they don't have much fear of anything." The snake came up to within about ten feet of us, and then I waved my hand vigorously and it turned and swam off. I'm pretty sure if that guy would have had a gun, he'd have tried to shoot the cottonmouth. But it was entirely unnecessary (and illegal, by the way). LarrySTL
I think Todd Akin would favor mandatory carry. In fact perhaps mandatory carry of grenades. Or maybe he'd just give us each our very own tank. http://intervenehere.com
