I guess my question is if any muskies get into the river up from the lake where one could float and or wade for them.

Thanks guys, a veritable assortment of answers. I have thought about doing some PDT fishing...

Sorry Drew. I've fished on the lake a bunch and still haven't seen many caught. But I haven't fished the river like you are talking. I've been as far as you want to go up river in a bass boat and caught lots of bass but no muskies. But that doesn't mean they are not there.

Sorry I don't have any more info or access recommendations. I've always wanted to get further up the rivers just never taken the time.

I guess I need to do some more research about peak activity, water temperature preferences, etc and plan a weekend float on the river. I appreciate the time fellas.

Drew - did you end up making this trip?? Just now reading this and floating the river for muskie definitely pics my interest. I don't get every weekend off work but if you still wanted to make the trip maybe we could plan a float before winter sets in. I do know that this is prime time for musky , fall is when they put on the feedbag for winter and move shallower. Went to Pomme 3 times last fall and had one chase and no eats (fly fishing) and havn't been since , not by choice though , the guys I went with who had a boat just lost interest.
