3 Month Heart Check

Recommended Posts

Well went in last friday for the blood work and physical from my heart attack. Blood Presure is doing great my blood work came back real good " little high on starch area but not bad ) even lost 15lbs. Doc asked about what changes and I told him its hunting season lol. Its amazing what eating squirrel, Goose and Duck will do plus increased my intake of fish. He still wants me to hit the Omega but Im thinking some Trout are in serious trouble as they are much funner to catch and now I havea reason to experiment with ways to cook them.

It has been a real eye opener guys at 43 I would never have guessed i would have had one and I can promise you I wont be missing any check-ups anymore and pay much more attention to how my body is feeling. The good lord must want me to keep the reports coming and controling the goose population. Please Please get check-ups I would like to be hearing from all of you for a long time to come.

I think I might be able to help you out on some Omega 3's. Just boxed up 30 pounds of salmon to bring home. I'll have it in the area around the 10th. Looking forward to hunting with ya buddy!

And I have a ton of goose jerky for you in trade.

I'll go out this weekend and locate some stripers and keep tabs on them for when you get home.

Been there done that, f & f. However, I did listen to my body. One day I just didn't feel right. I had taught recognition signs of heart stress for years but what I experienced that day was none of those but it was starkly different enough to have me say to my wife...."Honey, somethings not right, keep your eyes on me in case I go down."

"Uh uh" was her response, "if you think I'm going to save your big azz when you go down you have another thought coming......" and with that it was off to the ER we went. I felt fine when we got there and for several hours thereafter. Blood tests said differently. Apparently when you have an 'event' your body releases extreme levels of enzymes, etc. that are detectable. 98% blockage on the non widow maker side of my heart. A stent later and with the same admonitions/precautions I'm sure that you received it was back to daily life with an awareness of the fallible me. Cool thing was I did not officially have a heart attack so my insurability didn't suffer. My lifestyle has changed somewhat, I read the labels more, exercise more, appreciate life a whole bunch more. So congrats on the good checkup. Live well.
