Hell, if a prowler showed up in my yard, and me and Kevin (across the street) felt threatened and decided we needed to take him out, chances are one of us would be kilt and the prowler would turn out to be a neighbor walking their Yorkie.

Put your freakin' six-shooter away, cowboy, and clean up your yard.

I was the one saying "calm down, relax, chill, everyone doesn't need to be trained to kill, especially children"...... Yet I am the one who went off the deep end?

WTFever ! Y'all enjoy your soldier games. Hope you manage to stay out of prison.

That really has nothing to do with self defense. I used that as just to show it takes training to doo so. as well as self defense training dose, firearms training, unarmed combatives, spontaneous knife defense, ground tactics, combative stick or combative knife as well of many other training that is offered. Its just like soccer or baskitball. You have to practice to be come better. Please feel free to contact Tony and set a class up. Even if you do not think you will ever use it. Its fun. Just take a firearms training course to better your shooting abilities, form, stance and grip. That way you mite be able to out shoot your buddys. For the one that dont know the first thing you will got threw in ANY Firearms training is SAFETY than you will move on from there to what class you are taking. Thanks Justin .

Naw, I shoot just fine. Been doing it for well over 40 years. Plus, due to my superior hunting skills, I have never had to come close to trying a 1000 yard shot. Hell, I have never made a 100 yard shot. Haven't needed to. Some skills can't be taught.

1000 yard shot only apply to property owners that own large tracts of land and need to repel trespassers. But, practice makes perfect. Once again, the more training the better. The more you shoot, the better you will be with your equipment. No matter what the range, practice. The only CCW holders that I worry about are the ones that do the minimum, have no previous experience with firearms, and think that is enough to make do. They are only 1 step above the ones that have never fired a gun.

You are going to shoot someone for walking on your land?? Gonna suck if that kids car broke down and he is taking a shortcut. You and Justin are the only CCW holders we worry about. But I guess they don't provide training for common sense reality.

Look out if you run into me carrying a stick, it's possible I have been trained in combative stick. And if the mood strikes me right, I might just defend myself with a knife on the spur of the moment. Some of this training sounds pretty cool, and also slightly Barney Fifeish.

I had my firearms training at Ft Leonard Wood in 1961, still don't know why I have to pay some body to certify me so I can carry a pistol.1,000 yards? Our longest were 350 if I remember correctly. Justin and JD what was the target range when you were in basic training?

Hopefully the zombies will bring a dictionary with them.

A month or two ago, I had been wade fishing and covered a lot of water that was about bellybutton deep. To return to my car, I got out of the stream and walked back along the edge of a field. There was a farmhouse I'd guess was 600 or 800 yards away with some people outside. I may have been trespassing; I really couldnt tell. I am glad to report that none of them decided to repel me by shooting me dead.
