Wayne SW/MO Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 If this is accurate, Reid is coming and probably bringing a whole crew, including a replacement for Pioli. If it matters, Tebow has a higher rating then KC's current QB's and Vick. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Quillback Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Saw another mock draft yesterday that had the Chefs picking up Luke Joeckel, he's considered to be a franchise type left tackle, premier left tackles are hard to come by, I would not mind seeing him playing for the Chefs. I'm thinking Andy Reid will also be able to fully utilize Jamaal Charles, he had McCoy in Philly and Reid had McCoy running the ball and catching passes. I could not understand why this year the Chefs coaches did not throw the ball oftern to Charles, in his rookie year Charles caught quite a few passes and turned some of them into big gains. Charles is a weapon on offence and should be in there on all three downs.
moguy1973 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 It's official. Andy Reid is the new Chief's head coach. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Charles is a weapon on offence and should be in there on all three downs. Charles isn't durable to be in there every down if he's carries the ball much. If they get a QB who can read a defense and put a ball in the hands of a receiver while he is still moving often, then they can leave Charles in as a threat. If they have to run a lot than he can't handle it. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Maybe if we could get him cheap, just as big a chance as a draft pick though. Quillback Posted January 5, 2013 Author Posted January 5, 2013 Well they canned Pioli, and I read that Reid will have "final say" on personnel decisions. So the next GM will have limited powers when it comes to personnel, which makes you wonder if that may lead some good candidates to stay away from the Chefs. I wonder if Reid will also get involved in contract negotiations, I hope not, I was living in Seattle when Holmgren was coach and GM, it didn't work out, he didn't do either job well, but when he went back to just solely coaching he got the Seahawks to the Super Bowl.

Yeah that's what we need, another bench warmer. I hope they don't sink a lot of money into someone sitting on the bench. Obviously it would be better than paying a college bench sitter big money, AKA Cassel, I don't believe there is a franchise QB sitting on a bench anywhere. Orton was close and they should have kept him, but Pioli didn't make smart decisions. In one article I read Hunt said the big change will be that both the coach and the GM will report to him. I.E. Reid won't report to the GM, but if he gets a buddy in there it's probably apples and apples. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
ness Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Clark was pretty smart announcing GM and HC would both report to him. That left all doors open. They can tailor the jobs to each person's skills and desires now. Hope to see a quality staff come pretty quickly. Nice to see the sense of urgency. It's a new era. John
