Crazy talk. If the speed limit was 120 mph I could get to STL a lot faster. Why can't we change that.

I don't recall anything in the Constitution preserving your right to drive that fast.

But I do remember a time when you could drive that fast on the interstate. I think people were held accountable for their own actions and did not need the Government to tell them what to do. Then the fuel shortages of the Carter years came along and it was dropped to 55. They, the government, claimed it saved lives and gas. But they have raised it since.

Nice try spinmaster. The gas shortage started in 1973 and the 55mph started in 1974. Three years before Carter.

Marijuana isn't soley useful for smoking either.... still illegal to possess.

And less people have probably died from it too. Though, apparently in Washington state it isn't any more.

Still, if we're going to compare it to Marijuana, then I'd like to suggest we look at the semi auto "assault rifles" as cigarettes (hate to look at them as cigarettes, semi auto rifles I consider plenty better thing to spend money on). Not as potent as the full auto or burst versions, and still legal.

And possibly what other prisoners end up doing to you while in prison.

Still, just cause Marijuana may have caught a tough break, doesn't mean semi auto's fed by higher cap magazines (i.e. assault rifles to some) should too, provided there's a little more scrutiny involved so as not to allow quite as many unstable people from getting them with ease.

Two years ago I would have looked at you guys and said "YOU ARE BEING SILLY AND MORONIC" But after watching Nanny NY Save us from ourselves, I am not so sure, really banning what size soft drink you can have? We have way to many politicians that are doing what they want and not what they were put in office to do and that is what scares me. Where does it end?

I don't see any difference between alcohol and assault rifles and deaths where they are involved. We don't "need" either of them, but we take completely different approaches to misuse. With alcohol it's the person, with assault weapons it's the weapon, makes no sense since either one can set on a shelf for a hundred years and not harm anything.

As far as marijuana is concerned, it's currently illegal in the US according to the government, and just like prohibition, it's making people rich while doing nothing to control it. Prohibit guns and they will end up in the same way.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
