gotmuddy Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I am selling my beloved mariner 9.9 because I want to upgrade to a four stroke. I found a deal on a four stroke so I need to sell my two stroke. this motor has always been good to me, never left me stranded. It comes with a brand new 8 pitch prop and currently has a 9 pitch prop on it. I even have MO titles(bought it in thayer, mo). motor was never a rental and for the past 3 years it was used by me. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
fishinwrench Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I want to upgrade to a four stroke. Now there's a bit of a contradiction That will make someone a fine little outboard.
gotmuddy Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 I want the quiet and fuel efficiency. I found a great deal on a '09 merc, still has 3 years warranty left. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Ham Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Is that a jet foot next to the motor? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
gotmuddy Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 Is that a jet foot next to the motor? yes, it is for my 25hp merc. I opted to run a prop when we went to the coast. Why? I'd much prefer a 2-stroke to my 4. I want a 4 stroke for the quiet and fuel efficiency. that and the fact that now that the white river has a national designation it is only a matter of time until they force two strokes off the river. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
fishinwrench Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 now that the white river has a national designation it is only a matter of time until they force two strokes off the river. Never. That's a buncha false flag marketing BS Can't argue with the "quiet" advantage, but the fuel difference throughout a typical day of fishing could be held in your coffee cup.
Ham Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 Just in talking to folks I know that run the 4 strokes day in and day out on the White guiding, they sure believe they are using a lot less gas with the four strokes. At WOT, there is almost no difference, but at low RPM's the 4 stroke offer advantages I think. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Njardar Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 After paying for repairs on a 4-stroke I would prefer a 2-stroke that costs a lot less to fix.
gotmuddy Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 After paying for repairs on a 4-stroke I would prefer a 2-stroke that costs a lot less to fix. the motor has 3 years warranty on the powerhead. Honestly I dont see how the 4 stroke can use much less fuel than the 2, I have never came close to burning 3 gal in a day. I am not real concerned if it sells, I am plenty happy with this motor. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
