Quillback Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 It's on Saturday evening on NGC, 5 two person teams competing to catch (via handgrabbing) the biggest catfish. Weekly winner gets $2,000 for the biggest cat. At the end of the year, biggest cat gets $10,000. Weigh in is in Oklahoma, so mostly OK lakes and rivers, but one team does travel down to North Texas.
Flysmallie Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Pretty good show. Katt Daddy is a pretty modest guy. I've been noodling on some of those creeks back when I was in high school. Don't think I would try it now though.
LittleRedFisherman Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 I'll have to check that out, that form of fishing has always interested me, although not sure if i'd ever want to try it myself..lol. Those guys from Hardy that do Ozark Outdoors, which is now Arkansas Outlaws have done some really good shows on noodling, or hogging as it more called here in Arkansas. I watched them on his show several years ago hog a 90 pounder. It is a huge sport in Oklahoma. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Quillback Posted February 4, 2013 Author Posted February 4, 2013 Noodling a 90 lb. cat would be a challenge, a cat that size would probably take the grand prize on Mudcats. Usually it's a cat in the mid fifties that wins the week.
Feathers and Fins Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 So far its been a good show, Last year i think was the feeling out stage thi year it is a little better done. Gotta say they dod pull some nice fish out. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Guest Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 One of the younger teams from last year would hit every boatramp they could find. I used that idea last summer and noodled a couple 10lb channels. The boat ramp that we found was abandoned, so I doubt it works on a busy boatramp.

They were fishing at one of the local lakes in Hardy and landed what appeared to be a 8-10lb largemouth. The other show, had them floating the Spring river in the early spring. They had a stringer full of walleye, trout, and smallmouth. It was an older film so I dont know when they did it. Wasnt crowbar involved in a murder for hire deal? I think he was acquitted tho. Dudes a rockstar around Hardy,
Greasy B Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Is that a 24' long river John? His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

Dudes a rockstar around Hardy, Yeah, I think they catch alot of Bass right there in Cherokee Village on those old shows. I remember that show your talking about, because Jason said he may have to sent that one to Stouts, (the local taxidermy). They are pretty creative, and have an entertaining show usually, and yes he is somewhat of a local celebrity around there. I read about the murder for hire deal, think someone approched him wanting it done, and he went to the authorities to turn them in. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
