Ooooh I like this too but what can't I have them all? Ok my overall choice just for fun times.

  1. Shotgun, rifle, handgun Shotgun
  2. Kayak, boat, canoe Kayak
  3. River, Pond, Lake River
  4. Flyrod, spin, or baitcaster Flyrod
  5. Lure Shadrap
  6. Fly Wooly bugger
  7. Color of Jig Shad gray or white (minnow color)
  8. Color of plastic craw/worm Black
  9. Live bait or lures Lure
  10. Only catch Smallmouth, Crappie, Largemouth, trout, catfish, panfish Panfish because if they are to be cooked I can get them all in a pan so they at one time will be panfish. I will leave your smallmouth alone but if we are fish hungry for the trip spotted bass or other tasty fillets will be released to the grease, swimming one last time in crisco bay.

We had this discussion at work yesterday. Thought it would be perfect for the forum. P.S. No it depends, you have to pick for all. Feel free to add to the list.

If you could only have/use one:

  1. Shotgun, rifle, handgun 10-22 rifle, accurate, cheap to shoot, ammo is small and easy to carry.
  2. Kayak, boat, canoe Kayak
  3. River, Pond, Lake River
  4. Flyrod, spin, or baitcaster Fly Rod
  5. Lure Rooster Tail Spinner
  6. Fly Bead Head Hare's Ear
  7. Color of Jig White
  8. Color of plastic craw/worm Green/Orange Flake
  9. Live bait or lures Crickets
  10. Only catch Smallmouth, Crappie, Largemouth, trout, catfish, panfish Panfish

I have carried a 10-22 for as long as I have carried guns. It is good for any small game. And in a survival situation, capable of taking deer, turkey, waterfowl, assuming all game laws are suspended.

I would choose a kayak and a river any day over sitting on a lake in a boat. It is what I use most of the time while I am fishing, and most of my fishing is done on a river.

I chose a flyrod as it is the best all around for presenting a lure in front of a fish. You can fish on top, middle, and deep with the utmost of control. The fly part is kind of limited, one fly is hard to do, but I could narrow it down to ten if I had to. But I would need a fly tying kit and supplies to tye them.

I love to fish for all species. But I seem to get the best numbers and enjoyment out of the panfish. Bluegills and google eyes deliver the best bang for the size and are abundant in most places.

One of anything isnt the American way...Could do with lots less......but I'll take at least one of each....If I lived near were they lived...Tarpon would be my fish of choice.

It really depends upon whether you're choosing strictly for enjoyment (choosing your favorites) or choosing for versatility (like if you HAD to catch fish or shoot game). The enjoyment choices are easy, the versatility choices not so much...

Shotgun, rifle, handgun--.22 rifle for enjoyment, 12 gauge pump for versatility.

Kayak, boat, canoe--canoe for both. I love fishing and paddling a canoe, AND you can fish just about any kind of water in a canoe. You can't fish small streams from a jetboat, etc.

River, Pond, Lake--river for both. Like Greasy, I can't live without rivers, but rivers also have a lot of different kinds of fish that are often easier to catch than those in a lake.

Flyrod, spin, or baitcaster--baitcaster for enjoyment, spinning (barely) for versatility. You can use a little bit lighter lures on a spinning rod if necessary, and it'll still cast heavier stuff after a fashion.

Lure--walk the dog topwater hands down for fun, but my choice for versatility would probably be a curly tail grub on a jig head. I NEVER use a curly tail grub on a jig head, because no matter what the conditions are, something else is almost always a better choice. But the jig and grub can be fished so many ways that it will almost always catch fish, from top to bottom, fast or slow, and all kinds of fish.

Fly--one of my streamer ties for fun, size 12 hare's ear for versatility.

Color of Jig--some variation of brown and olive

Color of plastic craw/worm--some variation of brown and olive

Live bait or lures--lures for fun, of course, live bait for if I really needed to catch a fish.

Only catch Smallmouth, Crappie, Largemouth, trout, catfish, panfish--smallmouth for fun, but if I was rally hungry, I know I could always catch panfish.

Not following directions!!!

HEY NOW! I bolded my answers. I just had to put my though process out there. Great idea I mentioned it at church tonight, and all the guys got to laughing about how we all have massive tackle boxes but we only use maybe 3-5 different lures/flies when we fish. However, they are all our favorite lol and we cant choose the top favorites. We are still haven't come to an agreement on the firearm debate lol.

I believe that fishing is usually better when there is a full moon. People are more crazy when there is a full moon. Thank God He made fish the way He did so I can have better fishing when people are crazier than normal.

My dad had a nerver disorder that caused his hands to shake. Needless to say, I didn't grow up around guns. What is a 10-22?

It's a Ruger 10-22. It's a 22 caliber semiautomatic rifle. I call it the boy scout gun cause it's smaller in size and is one if not the most popular/commonly bought rifle of all time. Great for new shooters. It's a staple in the gun world.
