Justin Spencer Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 After Joe's little blow up about videos this morning I decided to go shoot one and post it for him. The only video camera we have is my son's little Flip from a couple Christmas' ago so it's a little shaky as it's just a cheap handheld. Editing software came free on our computer and kept crashing on me, but with a couple hours on the river and a couple hours on the computer I have this wonderful self-promoting video of our newest cabin and the fishing around it. Naturally I only caught dinks, lost one good one trying to get the camera going, and had a really good fish take off over a drop and come unhooked. Had 3 decent fish grab my 3/4" yellow thingamabobber that's when I changed to a yellow leech and hooked the two that got away. Hope you enjoy, if not please tell me about it. fishinwrench Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 That was friggin' GREAT! I was waiting for it, but it never happened....what a climax! Thank dog for old fashioned land cameras!
Ham Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 That should do the trick. Nice digs by the river with fishing outside your door. Nice! Seriously, I wondered if the NFOW had any small trout. I never see them, but they do grow to massive size. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Troutnut69 Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I'm putting in my vote for Fly Fishing Film of the Year!! I only gave you a sub-par score on the choice of beer. Man that water looks sweet...I need to get back down , and soon!
Greasy B Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Real nice, His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Forsythian Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 Very nice Justin! Whereabouts is that cabin? Cenosillicaphobiac
Justin Spencer Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 Very nice Justin! Whereabouts is that cabin? You turn off the highway just like you were coming to Sunburst, but it is the first right instead of the second. On the river it is 1/2 mile below us. ColdWaterFshr Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 The video had some really great elements in it. It followed the Classical Quest Pattern, the loss of innocence and the gaining of experience. Character development was a little bit weak, but the overdubbed whistling helped us to identify with the main character, the garbage on the front porch revealed his general laziness and was reinforced when he relied on the 4-wheeler to make it that short distance down to the river. Cinematopgraphy was stunning. There were 2 great moments of tension in the film. The first was when you opened the cooler and only diet coke was visible. You took us right to the edge when your hand retrieved a beer rather than a diet coke. And it occurred again at the end, only this time when a Busch Light was retrieved. Had these beers been Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Bell's Two-Hearted or even just PBR, the viewer would have had a stronger sense of rejoicing . . . . but there I go, getting all JoeD arm-chair film critic on ya. Fine film-making. How much that cabin go for and what is the availability for March 22nd and 23rd?
Justin Spencer Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 I appreciate the critique, I had previously exhausted some 80 acre wheat, and 312 out of the cooler so was left with the scraps, as for laziness glad that was understood, character development is tough when using a hand held camera with no tripod, but looks like I succeeded. Cabin is available those dates and is $150/night for up to 10. That price doubles come May. 4. bedrm, 3 1/2 bath, washer dryer, satellite TV, stripper pole by request (must furnish own strippers, and invite me).
