Wayne SW/MO Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Will we have have power tomorrow? Anyone's guess, I know, but the suspense is there. I'm not a fan of long term power outages, at least if they last more than 30 minutes. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Feathers and Fins Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Depends on if they hit the forecast on ice right, they were a little off on timing of the storm starting so and it seems more thna they thought so far so maybe its moving fast enough to be out of here without to much ice. Anyway you look at it, its a good time to change all your line and clean all the tackle boxes up https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
blue79 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I know what you mean. When the ice storm hit about 5 years ago,we lived in Lamar and we had a fireplace. no power for about a week, but we was able to stay warm.We live in Stockton now and we dont have a fireplace,so yeah, were screwed.
fishinwrench Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I'm guessing that we up here are safe. Too cold for much buildup on the lines here.
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 Yeah it appears that you're well into the snow/sleet band Wrench. This area is on the line and apparently it's a toss up between sleet and ice. White River has done a good job of keeping limbs away from the lines here. The big problem is that there is no room for trees or tree tops to blow down in the wind because of weight. Time will tell. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
exiledguide Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Wayne I went to wally world today and got the needed supplies for a winter storm, 2 big bags of Lays chips, a large bag of Reeses pieces, Bunny tracks ice cream etc.and then in the beer aisle I saw it ,shineing like a lighthouse on a stormy coast, Leinenkugel CANOE PADDLER beer an omen telling me that even if the power goes out and I can't watch my 18 DVR'd Fishing with Joe Bucher TV shows I can read by candlelight in front of my wood stove back issues of IN Fisherman.comforted by CANOE PADDLER beer. My bride thought that was a good idea as long as I could get her to an airport so she could fly to FLorida to visit her brother..................
Jerry Rapp Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 ex - I went to wally mart this morning at 8 am. Usually it is user friendly at that time of day. This morning it was like a Saturday afternoon. Ice/snow/sleet is coming! It looked like the end of the world was coming. I did get some 12lb Big Game mono.

Jerry,Same over here in Republic It was kind of scary around the battery display and when I came out people were lined up at the Propane tank cage.
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 20, 2013 Author Posted February 20, 2013 I went to the Branson Hills store and like Jerry's, it was packed. First thing I saw was a display of generators, can't say Wally World isn't on top of the market. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
timsfly Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I hope it doesn't get to bad, but I have the generator, fuel, extra water, a .22 for shooting rabbits, a .45LC for shooting looters, big pot of chili and enough hooks, rabbit, helmets and minnow skulls to tie all day, if I have to, and hooks and leech dubbing, when I run out of sculpin helmets, if its not to bad I may go fish crane, I received two new rods today, and I need to try them out, good luck everybody.
