duckydoty Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 I havent used the Mag Wart but, it catches plenty of fish apparently. Thats crazy that you've got 2000 of them in need of repaint. Does that mean theyre scuffed or totally ripped down to the white plastic? You should post a couple pics of the ugliest specimens! They are up in Alaska right now. Some of them are up to 50% white plastic. Those kings are rough on them. Most of them have the hooks taken off and were probably headed for the land fill this summer when we open the lodge back up. Might have to consider shipping them home. There are probably three big rubber maid tubs filled with them A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. mixermarkb Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 Ship them home, then ship them to EBay. Even trashed mag warts would bring a couple bucks each, which with my math is $3000-4000. Worth the time for sure!
duckydoty Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 This is a good example of one that we consider still fishable condition. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners

abkeenan Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 MixerMarx, Those are AWESOME colors you got there on the repaints. The "Table Rock Craw" is sweet. Net Bait has that EXACT color and that is what they call it too and I throw it probably 50% or more of the time as my jig trailer. Love purple accents on anything I ever throw on the rock. Kinda looks brownish when you put it in the water. DuckyDoty, Mag warts aren't as popular as the regular wiggle warts but I like them myself and you definitely have value there in those beat up baits. For Gods sake do not throw them away!
mixermarkb Posted March 22, 2013 Author Posted March 22, 2013 He really killed it didn't he? I told him I wanted a phantom green with purple instead of orange and wow! The pics really don't do these baits justice. I had him do 3 of each color, pretty much can say my stash of V63, V37&38 old warts will sit in the box for a while. I'm very pleased.

Ham Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 DD, what about single siwash hooks on those Mag Warts? I'm sure the long days in Alaska are filled with work to do at the lodge, but if ANYBODY could justify the expense of the equipment and effort to re-paint baits, it would be you. If nothing else, eBay them in patches of 25 for $50 post paid with a Buy it now option. Easy money. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

If running trebles we some times cut one of the three hooks off the treble. One hook on the upper lip and two on the bottom seals the mouth closed and makes for a difficult unhook sometimes. Once the season gets good and going, you kinda just start making do with what you got. Shipping is outrageous where we are in remote western Alaska. At least $1.00 per pound unless it is bulky no weight stuff, then even more. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
