Members jshipman23 Posted April 5, 2013 Members Posted April 5, 2013 I want to start fishing creeks again. I live in St. Louis. I don't have anything so I can't go into deep water and I would rather not go into the water. Is there any good fishing areas where I could walk the bank? It doesn't have to be that long or anything. Easy access to the bank by a bridge or something. I dont mind getting a little wet but not past my shins. If you can let me know a exact location I would appreciate it!
mic Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 Go back to the forumn and read the pinned article at the top. Best all around description of what to expect.
Gavin Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 The BB is not a very wade friendly river..Too many long deep slow holes, small gravel bars, and high mud banks but you can find a few spots on it and the other Meramec tributaries. Buy a Delorme Gazeteer, hunt around on Google Earth, burn some gas. I'm sure you will find a honey hole here and there. .
Smalliebigs Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 The answer to your questions are yes and no.......I'm not sure how you expect to be serious about fishing creeks and not wanting to get in water or water over your shins......It kind of sounds like your joking
Greasy B Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Half the fun is getting in the water. Beside ther'e is no stinging nettle or chigger in the water. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Hog Wally Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Be careful walking in by a bridge There is an ordinance supposedly prohibiting parking within 500' of a bridge or something like that. Catch and release in my creek. I'm selling my place soon so pm me your number and I can give you directions recent floods have flushed some dandy smallies into the few root wad holes I have on my property I watched the neighbor kid catch goggle eye cast after cast yesterday before the storm. That was pretty cool.
