405z06 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Nice set-up! I don't kayak, but in a canoe I take two: One baitcaster for spinnerbaits/topwater, and one spinning outfit for soft plastics.
Terrierman Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I normally take two. One will have plastic, the other one something else depending on season and water.
Members Ozark Brad Posted April 18, 2013 Members Posted April 18, 2013 I carry two in my Ride 115. 1 7'0M Vendetta casting rod for Spinnerbaits/buzzbaits/jigs (heavy lures) and 6'9ML vendetta spinning rod. 95% of the time I use the spinning rod to throw small plastics with a 1/8 bullet weight.
Members Fish Ogre Posted April 18, 2013 Members Posted April 18, 2013 I carry 3, using a similar setup on an almost identical kayak. "Joy to the fishes..."
Al Agnew Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 As everybody probably knows, I carry five in my solo canoe...and at some point during the day I feel like I need each and every one of them. I generally actually use three almost constantly, with the other two being used less.
On The Fly 6 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Two. My 5wt and my ultralight. Gavin Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 Bass-2 casters, 2 spinners, and a fly rod. Trout-2 fly rods and 2 spinners.
ollie Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 One.. I'm a minimalist when it comes to tackle and rods. Plenty of room for your feet? I just don't see it I guess. Looks like they would get in the way or at least in MY way. "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
moguy1973 Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 I take 2 one inside the kayak, and one that I'm using. It's usually a 6'6" medium spinner and an ultralight spinner as a backup. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
UnCivE Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Ollie- Doesn't really matter how many rods I take with me, they never end up in my "personal area" anyway. I could theoretically take 7 rods, but a couple would end up in my backswing and that gets a little irritating. I think the type of kayak you've got makes a lot of difference.
