Bill Babler Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Just kind of a montague of photo's from the last couple of days on the Rock with Lodge guests Suzy and John from Chicago. Had not been to Viney all year and just thought I had stayed away long enough. I just love the White River. Fish were where they were suspose to be, mostly on the ledgey stuff transitioning to gravel in front of the spawning pockets. Boated loads of fish in the two days with 30 keepers, no stud muffins, but lots of K's in the 16 to 18 inch range with a few Jaw's and LM thrown in to keep the color in the bag. Surface temps both days started in the 59 degree range and got up to 62. Mostly fished a Yamaoto or Chompers 4 inch grub on a 1/4 oz head. Fish started out each morning pulled out. Kept my boat in 35 to 45 ft. usually 2 full casts from the bank, and counted the grub down to about 15. As the day warmed usually starting at 11 AM we would start to edge closer, but never had the boat under 30 ft. Most or our fish came off the bottom and suspended in the 12' to 20' range. On lots of times we would have multiple fish following in the one we had on the hook. Really great folks. Used a Falcon Nestor Falls spin with 6 pound Maxi Water was has just a bit more color up there with visibility only about 15 ft. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
steveearle Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I'm glad it worked out Bill. This was my referral that I asked you about via IM when they booked and we had some confusion...I think your wife took the reservation and hadn't told you yet..LOL. Thanks for making me look good. John and I are co-workers (sales)...him in Chicago and myself in st. Louis.
Bill Babler Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 Really a super 3 days. They also caught trout out the wazzu on the 3/4 day we spent down there. Gotta Watch out for Suzy the Fisher Gal. Good Luck http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
dwiebenga Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Great pics! How will the crazy weather impact the fishing? I am going to be down this weekend.
fishingaddiction Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Great report Bill, especially the pic's of your clients and fish (good quality/nice weather). dwiebenga has ask the million $ question. What will the weather do to this great fish catching? Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Bill Babler Posted May 3, 2013 Author Posted May 3, 2013 I think at this point of the season, it's on reguardless of the weather. These fish have been pulling way out everynight and then moving back up as the day warms. Don't see much of a change. Might wait a bit later in the morning to go out and fish just a littler deeper. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
dwiebenga Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 Thank you Bill, I will post and/or call with a report. Gonna be in the Dam area this year. My Grandma's friend is having bladder cancer surgery so they will not be in town.

With the other recent fronts the brown fish that were up pretty much stayed put in that 6-15' area just off the banks. Black and K's backed off, and vacated some beds. Came back in every time the water temp threatened 60 degrees.
vernon Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 My brother and me are heading down in the morning for our annual spring trip to Kimberling City and will be there for the week. Sounds like the weather will stabilize and steadily improve during the week (at least from a comfort perspective!) and hopefully the fishing will as well. Been following the forum closely and am greatly appreciative for the wealth of information provided here. The only drawback is my blood pressure continues to rise as the excitement builds reading the reports and checking out the photos! Can't wait to get down there an join y'all in the fracas! Will post results as frequently as possible in hopes of giving a little something back! "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.

Should not be hard to catch them around 13.
