Greasy B Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 They were thinking that the river is an amusement park ride. As though there is some higher force looking out for them, wrong. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

stlfisher Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 i drive right over the 21 bridge everyday...crazy to float it...the whole area on the south side of the bridge is flooded into the fields...not uncommen, but not a smart place to float right right now.
joeD Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Well, thank goodness they are alive. No one likes a deadly outcome. On a related note, Mother Earth weeps, because there are 3 extra people she has to support, and, insult to injury, reduces the Earth's IQ by a factor of 10.
fishinwrench Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Hey, if it weren't for those guys they wouldn't have gotten to play in that sweet little rescue boat. Those things are a blast!
gramps50 Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 That's a little bit south of me, I wouldn't even take a motor boat in the Meramec right now. Sunday I saw a whole tree root ball and all floating down the river towards Hwy 21 bridge. Who know where it fell in the river. I agree you can't fix stupid.
ciRe Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Well I guess some of my friends and I are "Stupid" Granted we were all on kayaks with jackets on and we all have over 1,000 miles on our kayaks. When the river is up like that I would not recommend to go out but it's so much fun.
