Sure was nice to get out on the kayak today. Gas shot up so much cant afford to haul the boat down so I figured I would fish out of the kayak. Got in the water headed to an area I like but someone beat me there, go to the next spot where a for sure was and someone was there also. So I paddle down past where I put in at and start fishing, someone pulls in behind me, no big deal. Ten minutes go by and they motor about 100 yards in front of me. Now come on people you got this big butt f ing lake and you jump in front of someone in a kayak. If I am wrong please let me know I can take it. I would love to float Tanney one day but Im sure some of the butt wipes out there could care less and fly right by within 20 feet. I guess all Id like to do is ask for some courtesy out there. I was taught at a young age to respect others if you want respect. Thank you.

I hear ya, Common courtousy, But they would tell you no one owns the lake. The good thing about being in a kayak is that you can get further up in the head water and top water bite. I would head way up in the river and no one would bother you that you couldn't out pattle. Frog action

I've had people pull in front of me all the time when in my bass boat, so don't feel like they are picking on you because you're in a kayak. It sucks for sure but there's just so many boats out there, especially on the weekends.

I'm with yah mike; common courtesy is at a premium these days.:-(........personally, I have the utmost respect and admiration of the guys in kayaks/canoes. When I'm fishing in my bassboat, I always give them a wide birth; (and actually welcome them over) and love to chat it up with them.

I was fortunate to fish out of a canoe in my youth and absolutely LOVED it!.......it has me thinking about a kayak these days for our smaller lakes, closer to home. The ultimate in stealth fishing.

-

Way too many boat owners out there with more money than sense.:-(

And......Sadly....... it's not a crime to be an a$$hole.......but it should be!

Dude, feel your pain. One of my kayaks is rigged with electronics and I like to hit a depth and use the wind so I can do more fishing/less paddling. There are jerks all over the place that will cut you off - maybe they just don't get it.

As for Taneycomo? Used to do it, but the bigger boats will send you rockin'. Great for kayak surfing, crappy for fishing.

Speaking of rude people. Had a buddy fishing the KVD, and he pulled up to his starting spot before they texted to start fishing and about 5 minutes before the texts were sent out he had 5 other boats pull right up on him. He said they pulled up to within 20ft. Not even 50 yards. He was pissed off!!

I was in the KVD with my son fishing a point near 86 bridge. We were a short cast from the bank. Had to stop one guy from passing between us and the bank but had another man and woman in a 12 ft boat cruise through and never looked at us. Very rude. I grew up fishing out of a canoe also and always thought big boat owners were rude but realized they dont have the market cornered on rudeness. Just need to use common sense and some respect.
