aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 great illustration RPS I was going to ask exactly what the "slow death" was I caught my first keeper walleye last weekend on a harness rig with a bottom bouncer. kinda got me hooked
Members jay0115 Posted July 2, 2013 Members Posted July 2, 2013 What size hook do you use? Where do you put the red donut looking thing. I trolled for 3 hours yesterday and only caught a few small bass. Is there particular areas to key in on, I've been just trolling up and down the shoreline near the shell knob area. I have heard from several people there are walleye out there. I just can't seem to find them.
flyman Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Was just curious what sudden impact is? I can't seem to find it. I see live impact, shad impact, sexy impact... I must be overlooking it. I would love to give it a try. Thanks!

flyman Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 That's what I assumed. I think he mentioned that in another post but I was just double checking in case it was new or one of the other 'impacts'.
Quillback Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Didn't Clint Eastwood star in a "Dirty Harry" movie named Sudden Impact?
rps Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 I think RPS meant this in 3.5" Swing Impact http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Keitech_Swing_Impact/descpage-KSI.html You are right, of course. Not all my pistons fire all the time.
rps Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 I use a 1/0 Matzuo Bait Roller hook. The red doughnut is actually a red bead.
rps Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 Today, 7/2, I went out again. Like Quillback, I did not find much of a topwater bite. I fished a slow death rig and a slow death with a Macks Smile blade. Two keeper walleye out of 24 feet of brushy water. I had to adjust the line length to run the bait just off the bottom to stay out of the brush. To give an idea of the number of bass, I used three boxes of nightcrawlers. Only about three were keepers, though.
