Current River marine is where my Blazer came from. Love to see some pics of it. You don't see many center console's, at least where i am on the Meramec, and I always wonder why. There is one guy i see and he stands at the center console when he is driving and it looks like it is desinged that way. Seems like a good idea.
Seth Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Smalliebigs......that should be a sweet rig for the Meramec! I have only been on center console rigs that had 72" wide transoms and I felt like I didn't have much room between the console and the gunnels. A 52" wide transom will be tight! Should nice to run though since the weight will be perfectly even unlike side console hulls.

You are right this will not be a boat you take the family out in, I already have one of those. The front deck will be extended back and there won't be much room in the bottom deck of this boat around the console.....just a suicide seat in front of the console for another fisherman....if you dont like being up on the decks you wouldn't like this boat. It should run pretty nice with the 2 stroke fuel injected 60/40 on the 14 foot hull though and will run shallow as hell if need be. I had a 1752 w/a 90/65 and a 20 foot Shoalrunner before neither of them went as shallow as I needed to go.....this one will.....but, you are right fishing only and a lot of the time it will be me by myself.
Al Agnew Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I'm curious as to why you're going with a 14 footer instead of 16 footer. Doesn't seem to me like that would gain you anything in running shallow, especially adding the weight of the center console. I could be wrong. Also seems to me like the shorter boat might sit an inch or two lower in the water when fishing or drifting. I wonder how the weight of that boat compares to my tiller steer 1652 Blazer with 40 ETec. Motor weight isn't much, if any, different, but the center console would add some weight, I'd think. The reason I'm hung up on weight right now is that on my last trip, I misjudged a line in a triple split riffle on the Meramec and ran up on a gravel bar. I was really glad I had a reasonably light weight boat
Hog Wally Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 Draft while drifting is everything. How slow a boat can run on full plane is second.

I was really glad I had a reasonably light weight boat Al the 1652 weighs 420lbs and the 1452 weighs 370lbs not much difference....the console is a composite material and weighs very little but I am extending the front deck back, which will add some weight. Current River Marine called today and we discussed a 1656 option....I will say this Current river Marine is very nice and seems to be very interest in a custom build. I just need to go as shallow as possible....nothing is set in stone yet other than the center console....I want to be able to stand and drive....I am open to any suggestions......Current River Marine agrees a wider and lighter boat balanced at the center with a 2 stroke motor will get you shallow.....I will take any ideas though.....I wouldn't mind a tiller if I can stand somehow while operating the motor???
