Bird Watcher Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 So, judging by responses, if the Yeti cooler was $30, then a lot us would have one. Once, as a callow youth, I propositioned a comely co-ed with an offer of $5000 if she would sleep with me. She said "Sure." I responded, "What about if I offered you $10?" She said "Hell no, what do you think I am!?" I said, "We've already established what you are, now we're just haggling over the price." There is truth to Missouri's motto of the "Show Me" state. And the fact that our state animal is the mule. We have an absolute knee jerk reaction to things that are deemed "too expensive" and have a perverse pride in our love of living the "low life." As if it is some sort of moral defect in earning a substantial living and having things that, while "expensive," some can afford and are, simply put, "better." Anyway, Wainwright sucked eggs tonight, time for another Busch Beer, and raise a glass to Mike Shannon. But in defense Joe, If a private jet were 10$, I'd have one of those too.
BilletHead Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Mrs Billethead here...I should have known something was up when Marty was sitting over there in his chair laughing his fool head off! I have ways of getting information from him; and he cannot lie to me! What he said about this cooler is the truth. But now we come to bigger things. Since I made him tell me what was going on, how should I deal with this? The mule remarks?? Ronnie, do you have any ideas?? Chris, what are you laughing about?? How come you and Scott did not let me know what was going on here and not ratted him out?? He is right about one thing: when we go hunting, I do most of the work!!!!! He is nice enough to allow me to shoot some of the birds though. I will in the future keep a better eye on what he might be saying about me! <img title=":)" class="bbc_emoticon" src="http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png" data-cke-saved-src="http://forums.ozarkanglers.com/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png" /> "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" Flysmallie Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I think a good start would be to send me all of his flies. You can pack them in one of those Yetis.
Bird Watcher Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Pat, Marty definitely outkicked his coverage with you. All I have to say.

Billet and Mrs. Billet, we need to meet up sometime. Marty -- we need to talk about password protection! John
ness Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 BTW, Mrs. BilletHead, did you know Marty spent, like, 500 bucks on a little teeny cooler? I just thought you'd want to know. A dang COOLER! Mine was 8 bucks at the grocery store. That other 482 could have been spent on better stuff. But, perhaps, I'm speaking out of turn. John
BilletHead Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Oh no I thought some of you were my friends! Now I'm going to sleep with one eye open. Wonder how many pairs of shoes and purses she could get in the cooler price difference Ness? Hard to type with a straight face keeping this between just the guys here. And the gall of me to send her off to work everyday so I can get all this cool stuff! Ronnie she wants you to PM her your address. Don't do it dude it would be bad news, In deep doo doo the BilletHead "We have met the enemy and it is us", Pogo If you compete with your fellow anglers, you become their competitor, If you help them you become their friend" Lefty Kreh " Never display your knowledge, you only share it" Lefty Kreh "Eat more bass and there will be more room for walleye to grow!" exiledguide Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I didn't know they had 4 blade razors..........actually until I checked my razor, I didn't know that they had razors with 3 blades........I tried to go modern in the early 60s and bought a Shick instead of my Gillette but you couldn't pass inspection with an enclosed razor at FT Fort Leonard Wood so I went back to the Gillette until it wore out in the 70s but I still use Barbasol............tried them $3.00 Shaving creams but seemed like a waste of money.....and oh yea BilletHead I do splurge every once in awhile but I can't remember when......seems like it always involved slow horses and...........
