Flysmallie Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I'd prefer to not be elite. Especially with the whole wife mule thing.
BilletHead Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Ronnie I think she thought you might be on her side but the implications of the wife mule thing in the same sentence gets you zero points and maybe me a few more points. Bird Watcher would an a person with a dedicated enclosed trailer for goose hunting qualify? Oh yea I have seen such person duck hunt fields out of the same trailer. Bird Watcher Posted August 29, 2013 Author Posted August 29, 2013 Possibly BH. I hope so. I'm looking for a loophole. I did DQ Scott's hunting critera earlier. I might have set a precedent.
Al Agnew Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 So, JoeD's Yeti post about Yetis and 4 blade razors started me thinking. So here it goes: What does it take to achieve OA "elite" status? Yeti Cooler? Phoenix Bass Boat? Megabass Jerkbaits? Steez Reels? Wenonah Canoe? Falcon Cara Rods? 22' Lund Pro V? 12" HDS Touch front and back? Humminbird 360? Twin Power Poles? How about the Fly Fisherman? Simms Waders/jackets/bibs? Sage ONE series? Waterworks Reels? Rio Skagit Line? NRS Clearwater Drift boat? How about your boat hauler? Ford Platinum? How about Sunglasses? Costa 580G? What does the OA faithful say? Probably not elite...just a gear junkie. A bunch of Shimano casting reels, the cheapest retails at $150. Five casting rods that all retail for over $200, up to $450. 7 canoes, a jetboat, a johnboat, a personal raft, a kayak, and a raft. Two Sage fly rods, along with a couple of Loomis, a couple higher end St. Croix, and a Winston, among cheaper ones. My fly reels aren't all that expensive, though...costliest one was about $110. Three pairs Simms waders. Only a couple Megabass lures, but plenty of Lucky Crafts. However, I did get quite a few of those things for considerably cheaper than retail in various ways. Best thing is, the wife doesn't mind the money I've spent (she spends a lot on her stuff, too).

BilletHRead I wasn't picking on her or you. Just saying that my wife would not be a good pack mule. She's a great lady just not the outdoorsy type. Loves to float and hang at the lake but not really into fishing, never been hunting and at the first sign of a snake she is out of there.
BilletHead Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Ok Ronnie I'll give you your points back. Flysmallie Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Ok Ronnie I'll give you your points back. Awesome. Now I just need to find a one-legged nun walking a goat and I win.
Quillback Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 If you don't have a War Eagle spinner bait (Mouse being the "elite" color) and some custom painted Wiggle Warts in your tackle box, you're not elite, at least in these parts.

How could we forget the Custom painted Wiggle Warts?. Nice call QB
