Kramr Posted September 15, 2013 Author Posted September 15, 2013 DCF, Thanks. We stayed in the Diamond City area last year in late October and there are a number of reasonable places to stay there. I remember though that walleye fishing was a total zero. Think the lake was turning over.
Ron Burgundy Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Diamond City is a good area for walleye fishing the bite must have been bad wen u were there.....Peel is another good area of the lake, u have Wagon Wheel resort to stay at and 125 marina for all your gas, snacks and tackle needs. Kramr Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 Ron, You mean in the area of the Peel Ferry?

Kramr Posted October 8, 2013 Author Posted October 8, 2013 Well we're here now. Can't find any walleyes. Going out Thursday with Mike to see if we can find them. Been fishing in 40 fow and deeper. Are the walleyes suspending or hiding in the rocks or brush piles. And what does it take to entice them to bite? Having a good time catching bass (white, lm, sm, and spots). Wife caught a nice 4.5 lb LM today fishing in 40 fow off a bluff over trees submerged down at 50 and 60. Also been catching some nice spots in the same area. She was using a minnow and I have been jigging with a spoon. Both seem equally effective.
Fish24/7 Posted October 8, 2013 Posted October 8, 2013 Happy to hear your are into some fish ! There might be a few walleye following the shad into the creeks now...typical fall behavior. Last Friday while bass fishing we caught 4 short eyes on a crankbait 10' deep on a mud flat way up a creek. They were maybe 12". Have not walleye fished since mid September. We were spooning 50-65' deep over deeper water at the mouths of major creek arms. I'm thinking they may have moved further back by now, but idk for sure.. If anyone knows it would be MIke,
Kramr Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Thanks Fish. Guy at the marina says they are on points at 35 to 37 fow. Says we should be bottom bouncing with a crawler rig. Gonna try that tomorrow morning. Will report back tomorrow.
Ham Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 I got a 16 inch walleye yesterday trolling a bluff with a Bandit 200 for crappie. We missed several other bites, but no idea what kind of fish those were. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Ron Burgundy Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 Kramr where did u end up going?....DC? Gone but not forgotten Martin Ford
Kramr Posted October 10, 2013 Author Posted October 10, 2013 Started the day bottom bouncing outside of Sister Creek. Worked our way to the Oakland Rec area then across to the saddle. Gave up on the walleye at this point and went for bass. Again caught some nice lm's, spots and wife nailed a 3.5 lb smallie. Very nice. Used minnows and spoons fishing over trees that topped out at 40 fow. Finding bait fish was key.
