.....about your fishing trips?

You know, where you caught em, what on, how many,...etc.

Me? I don't care to tell anyone person to person. (i.e. phone, text, face to face, PM..) I don't like to broadcast it on the internet. Too many lurkers...

I do have a couple spots that are so tiny, that I only tell a couple people about. They tell me the same so it's all good. I don't know that I have anything that's a true secret, take it to my grave kind of deal.

I am always more than happy to talk to guys on the water. I've learned more from on the water conversations than anything I've read.

Waterfowl hunting is pretty much the same. I like to kick it back and forth with Billethead and about 5-10 other guys via phone and text. I wouldn't put locations on the internet intentionally. Again, too many lurkers.

I think the deal is, I don't care to share information with someone if I think it's a reciprocal situation. I don't like to put out what I've gleaned only to have it used up by someone anonymously.

So, how bout you? Do you spill the beans? or do you plead the 5th?

Or rather, did you catch em? or did you get skunked again?

It stays mostly between my fishing partner and I, but rivers like the Current are not a secret so while we won't give spots we caught fish,I feel fine sharing the river if it is well known. I may hold back a bit if we find a hot spot though.

Mum's the word on local places. That's not too hard because I really don't have many secret hot spots, just places I like to go.

Pretty much like you Mr Winklemann, I will take somebody to my spots but not announce it on the Internet.

The places I have that are secret fishing spots are on private property and other people won't know where they are anyways so why not boast about the numbers and quality of fish I've caught there.

On public waters, specifics are usually left out, just general things like what they were biting on, what types of cover they were sitting in, size and numbers are divulged on here.

I suppose it depends. There are a lot of places that are no secret and unless you give gps points I see no reason to be secretive. A lot of the places mentioned on here concerning white bass were making the rounds word of mouth decades ago.

Some areas simply can't stand much pressure and I think the obligation to protect them out weighs any reason to share.

Everything I post is total BS, just in case you hadn't already figured that out.

Everybody all ready knew that because LOZ was fished out decades ago.
