mixermarkb Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 " How about all the kids in Africa that have no medical, Or Mexico or South America. Does an Inner City Child deserve more than they do. Just because they were born in America?" No, we are called to help all of them too. But it's embarrassing when people die from lack in the same country that Paris Hilton makes millions for simply being famous, and some of those same inner city kids make millions and become role models, ready or not, because they can jump higher or run faster than 99% of us. Our priorities as humans are screwed.
Justin Spencer Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 How about all the kids in Africa that have no medical, Or Mexico or South America. Does an Inner City Child deserve more than they do. Just because they were born in America? Sorry the "Poor child poor me" argument will NEVER work with me. I struggled I went through medical crises and yet somehow managed to find ways, There are programs to help people in emergency situation. But Na the poor child argument will never wor with me. Good tactic but doesn't hold water in my book. call me cold or whatever. But people need to EARN their way in life and Earn what they get, not have it "entitled to them" Karma will have you coming back as an poor inner city girl in the worst school district in the US, I just hope you find this forum and my old bones are still here to tell you to quit complaining. hank franklin Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 The better question is: Is access to health care a basic human right? I say yes, it is. Hippocratic Oath etc. You don't leave the sick and dying on the battlefield. So yes, health care for all. That doesn't mean Obamacare is right. A massive failure of my generation. We took a bad problem and made it worse.

BINGO. but at the same time when a person is well enough they are discharged and if they come back non-life-threatening they are expected to pay for services rendered. And I believe people should pay for health care, but I do not believe I should be paying for someone elses. Again going back to I work hard and have spent a lot of money on my education ( and yes I paid for it ) so why should I have to pay for someone else, that is basically theft. Would you let someone come in your house and take all your food or clothing? Do you buy meals for every homeless person you see or give every one of them ,money on the corner. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Jerry Rapp Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 the problem is Obamacare was jammed down our throats at 2 am by a democratic senate/house. Not one republican voted for it, and even back then the majority of the public was against it. Not one of our reps/senators had even read it. Today nearly 70% of the public oppose it. I am guessing that in another month or so all of the folks who think Obamacare is like Obamaphones(i.e., free), will realize how much this "tax" is really costing them. And remember, Obama said no new taxes. Sad that some believe their b.s. But a lot of people believed Hitler also.
Jerry Rapp Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 and I forgot to mention how the "swind flu" epidemic was going to kill us all when Obamacare was being passed. Has anyone heard of swine flue since?
mixermarkb Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 There is NO such thing as an Obamaphone. The free phone program was started under Bush, and is totally funded by the phone companies and private donations.
Jerry Rapp Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 I was referring to the Obamacare debate. Nice spin though. And I can counter by what Obama said while a senator in 2006 about the debt ceiling. Do you want to debate his stance on the debt ceiling back then? Or Obamaphones now?
