J-Doc Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 You think you have it bad now wait till you pick up your first striper over 20 doing it. Then you will be impossible to live with. LOL!! Maybe..... Feathers and Fins Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 You have seen how much homework I do on the lake, is it a wonder with those maps how I find fish lol https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Ron Burgundy Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 WC here is a thot.....a friend of mine took a 5 gallon bucket and drilled some holes in it and tied it to a cleat and tossed over the side....that will slow u down or buy some drift bags. Gone but not forgotten Martin Ford
J-Doc Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 That's a good inventive idea. Heck I may do that myself. Drift socks are more easily stowed but hey........a bucket is a good way to experiment on the cheap. Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. Ham Posted October 9, 2013 Posted October 9, 2013 You might want to consider "upgrading" to a 36 V TM. It wouldn't be cheap, but they draw less amps and should last all day. Any hints about best speed for crappie? I messed around a little bit yesterday at 1.4 MPH with Bandit 200's and caught a walleye and had a few bites. I have Shad Raps and Flicker Shads I could try as well. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Feathers and Fins Posted October 9, 2013 Author Posted October 9, 2013 Crappie = 2.1 to 2.5, I went again today and tore them up again. Even had to pull a jig out ( found some nice bass that wanted to play ) Surface bite was just starting when I left lots of shad around and lots of things making dinner of them. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
wc1063 Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Thanks for all the suggestions, I might have to sneak out tomorrow after work to try some of them!! And Scott is right, I still remember catching my first striper(18 lbs on shad I netted) like it was yesterday!!
Ron Burgundy Posted October 10, 2013 Posted October 10, 2013 Might want to use two buckets so the pull is even....boat wont pull to one side with two....even with a drift bag two is better.. Gone but not forgotten Martin Ford
jolicious Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 You think you have it bad now wait till you pick up your first striper over 20 doing it. Then you will be impossible to live with. Jason is already impossible to live with :-)
jolicious Posted October 12, 2013 Posted October 12, 2013 And he threw it back. :-) Joe's a bit softy that way (nothing wrong with that btw Joe). I myself......have been turned on to the tasty flakey white meat and cannot turn down ole "Mr. Snaggletooth" if he measures 18" or over! LOL! What I used to get angry about catching (when I was strictly a "bass-guy") is now a welcome invitee into my livewell. Besides, those suckers are just fun to catch!! Fighters! It was really pretty, so I had to put it back
