WHARFRAT Posted October 20, 2013 Author Posted October 20, 2013 I was using a hot n tot, Tennessee shad color @lozcrappie
Old plug Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 One of my newer beds.i think is full of crappie. I went over there last evening after the bed shaded and got five real nice ones on 5 cast. I did not keep any. I will wait a few days because i have to go to St Charles to visit grand kids Friday then onto Herman to put in crown moldings at my daughter home Saturday. I want the fish to be as fresh as possible. I had told them both about Mitch's potato chip mix on fish and want them to try it. Myself I am spoiled about fresh eating fish. I catch them in the morning I will have them for lunch. Catch them in the afternoon and they will be supper.
MOsmallies Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Very impressive walleye for anywhere not just LOZ! Congrats
stuartsx5 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Well, this is kinda late. Been dealing with raising kids and all that entails since we been home. Fished last Tuesday and Wednesday on the Glaize. Put in at PB 2 and fished all the points and backs of cove to the 54 bridge. It was tough. Caught 8 on Tuesday and 7 on Wednesday. Size was nice but the numbers were small. Have to work Sunday night so I might go again Monday afternoon when I get up. Earl Stuart fishin is livin
Blazerman Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 The wife and I did some crappie fishing at the lake over the weekend and didnt do too bad. It wasnt fast and furious, more like slow and steady. We fished half a day Saturday and half the day Sunday and I ended up cleaning 16. We actually caught about 30 between the two days but didnt keep anything under 10. I didnt have my boat so I only fished off of docks. I have a buddy that owns a place with a group of three docks side by side, and loaded with brush around them. I went there first but didnt do very well. It was really windy on his docks because they are right on a point so it was hard to fish them affectively. The other place I fished is a condo dock and that is where we ended up catching most of the fish. I was using bobby garland jigs mostly blue ice and the wife was using minnows. I probably caught twice as many as she did. We were fishing in the third and fourth boat slips closest to the bank, probably about 15-20 fow and the crappie were hitting about 5-8 down. The only downer on the weekend was when I hooked a big crappie and fought it to the surface and then got excited because it looked like it might go 2lbs. I tried to flip it on the dock like I usually do but the line broke and my rod snapped back and hit the pole on the dock and broke the tip. The bummer was it was my favorite ultra-light Falcon rod. The pic is from Saturday.
WHARFRAT Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 my condolences to your Falcon. Love the rods! Good Quality, Good price. Would compare it to rods twice the price! Nice catchin' too! @lozcrappie
Old plug Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Nice crappie are stating to show up at my dick now. I can go down there ans catch 3-4 then i have to leave for a couplechours and come back and catch a few more. It should keep on improving till the water gets to cold and they drop down and bunch up with everything else off the point at. 30 ft or better. My neighbor is will pluck them out this year. My season is over. I have two surgeries coming up tgatare going to keep me somewhat still till early spring.
