Craziest end to a World Series game ever!

-- Jim

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson

That was a crazy end. I see a press article where they're calling the last play "controversial", I think the obstruction call was justified (this coming from a Bosox fan). Salty made a bad throw to 3rd that caused the whole thing, he makes a good throw and the game would have continued.

both sides seem to agree the correct call was made. Bummer for the Sox fans though. The cardinals should have blown the game open several times. The first 3 games sure have had some "unique" plays from both sides.

For sure. I was standing the last 4 innings and couldn't see the play at the plate. Saw the throw over third and Craig stumble. Next thing we know the fireworks were going off. I think the trigger guy wanted to "end the game" before the umps could review it.

Funny too. The crowd stood and didn't leave in a big rush. It was like they couldn't believe it was over too.

I think this shows the difference in both leagues American League teams play like slow pitch softball play for the 3run home run National plays aggressive first to third Before the series started all I heard was Boston was going to run on St L which team has the most stolen base. Remember in 2006 Detroit pitchers couldn't throw the ball to 1st or 3rd base how many runs did StL get on pitchers errors. How can Boston leave Napoli on the bench and and not have Drew at SS and have Middlebrooks at 3rd base to turn Holidays ground ball into a double?

Congratulations Phil, I only got to see opening game in 64 world series.
