LittleRedFisherman Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Nothing set in stone yet for me, I may very well be able to make it on the 14. Whatever the works best for the majority, I'll try to make it work for me!! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 9, 2013 Root Admin Posted November 9, 2013 I could make it Friday the 13th and probably hang around for Saturday morning fishing. Sounds like the weekend of the 13-14 is better for most.
hoglaw Posted November 11, 2013 Author Posted November 11, 2013 I like the weekend of the 14th myself but can do either. I'd just like for Ham and LR to be able to make it, and Phil for part of the time. I figure Friday night will be fun, and we may be able to get there early enough to fish on Friday (depends on whether I can leave work). We've got a trial down south on the 10th I think. I don't think I'll have to try that one, but I may be involved helping some folks get it ready which has the potential to make that weekend of the 7th a busy one for me. Like most trips I think, Friday is the most fun in terms of meeting folks and hanging out. Saturday morning is fish hard time. Saturday afternoon is more fishing. By Sunday, some folks will be ready to hit the road. My fiancee and I are down for the 14th.
gotmuddy Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I can go any time. Thanks for the offer terrierman but I think I found a replacement. I am looking forward to meeting new people. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
LittleRedFisherman Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Sounds like the 14th is gonna be best for everyone, with a month to prepare, I bet that will work for me also! Also looking forward to meeting you guys!! There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
Ham Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Looking forward to it. I imagine I'll plan on sleeping in my crib, but I'll be down for visiting and fishing. I've got a jetboat that will fish three easy. I own a 17 canoe and 4 kayaks so I can help if we want to so a low water Norfork deal. We might want to think about a pot lock one night and other food options. As I mentioned before, I have lots of firewood for all if campfires are desired. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 13, 2013 Root Admin Posted November 13, 2013 So it's the 13-14th. Who's in charge? What's the plan? Where are we staying? Like I said, I'll bring a jon boat if needed. Will bring the meat for Friday night's meal.
LittleRedFisherman Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 This was Hoglaws brainchild, and a great idea!! I'm almost thinking a fish fry would sound good! I've got access to a large cooker that can cook 10 pounds or so of catfish fillets at a time, that is one of my speciality's I guess you could say, been cooking the annual fish fry at the local cotton gin for 10 years or so, they'd let me borrow there cooker! If this turns out to be a large turnout, that's a great way to feed a bunch of hungry men quick...lol. There's no such thing, as a bad day fishing!
gotmuddy Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 We will be staying at Riley's Station. Can I get a head count so I can call Michelle and let her know. Boats shouldnt be a problem, they rent boats cheaper than anyone on the river. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Quillback Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I'm thinking about this, I would have to bring my dog, he can stay in his crate in the cabin during the day if it's OK with the lodge rules. I snore like a locomotive so in the best interests of everyone getting a good nights sleep, I'd need to be in my own room. I don't have a river boat, so I'd have to bum rides (be happy to pick up the gas and oil bill), and I am not a fly fisherman, so I'll be tossing hardware. If all that is acceptable to you folks, I'd say I'm about 90% in on this.
