Flysmallie Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 I spent my 5 years in that area. Don't care to do that ever again. Visit, yes. Move in again, never! Yeah I don't want to ever live there again. SW Mo is my home now.

Flysmallie Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 We should go get a Meer's burger! That sounds good right now. Some pretty good fishing in that area too. Plus it's pretty awesome to be fishing while buffalo are roaming around.
exiledguide Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 The strip on Saturday night in Lawton, Oklahoma and $80.00 in your pocket........WOW
bfishn Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 That explains a lot, I only had $47. I can't dance like I used to.
laker67 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 29 degrees and holdin here at the lake this am. The crappie and white bass are chasin the shad into the shallows and beaching themselves like whales. The cold air temps are freezing them where they lay. You should be able to pick them up by the five gallon bucket full. Is there a limit on beached crappie?
WHARFRAT Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 Came in to warm up and get some more coffee. Can't get em to bite on jigs, catching a few on minnows. Most have been under 9". @lozcrappie
Old plug Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Hmmm 1958. Brings back memories of Maria who was from Naples, also Barcelona and of Mamma Son on the other side of the world. Any of you old timers know any if them?????? I just amazed me how most women I met in the mediterranean sea ports were named Maria. I conducted a through search too for others. Wrench----- I was up yesterday saying happy Thanksgiving to the Bryant's and giving Ed and James a hard time. Ed told me he is having a hard time catching anything but those little crappie like the 27 I caught off the dock here before I went into the hospital. I was down on the dock day before yesterday and caught 6 running my motor for awhile. Was the same thing again. Usually there are some pigs in there right now.

Any of you old timers know any if them?????? I was never there, but it wouldn't matter because I don't remember much about being out on a pass. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Old plug Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Nov 1962 Ft Sill . We were in the field, woke up with a coating of ice on shelter halfs and temp in the teens with a blue norther from the Artic circle and we had not been issued long underwear yet never in my life was I so happy to see itch wool long johns show up right after breakfast along with our liners for our field jackets. I hated the cold also. In I think it was 59 we took a squadron of twin prop anti- submarine aircraft aboard and hauled them up 500 miles north of the Arctic Circle. They were practicing following Russian subs for a few weeks. Let me tell you standing in back of a bunch of prop blast and the accompanying exhaust was the warmest place you could find. We could not wear face mask because they limited your side view. A few got frost bit up there. It earned me my first crossing award.that is a big tradition in the Navy. It was what they call Royal Order of the Blue Nose. They really get into that kind of thing issue orders, give you certificates, id cards and sometimes have large initiations. All that is entered into your records.
